59% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. 700 cases produced.

Winemaker notes:
Tasting Notes - - Deep garnet in color. Restrained elegance in the front of the palate, with notes of graphite, pencil shavings, dusty cocoa and classic Cabernet Franc characteristics and baker’s chocolate in the nose. Mid-palate is full of juicy dark fruits, cracked pepper and even a little meaty, with an über-viscous mouthfeel. Finishes tart with plenty of acidity to lay down for several years. Overall, this is a voluptuous, sexy and spicy wine, but not entirely over-the-top.

Vintage- - The best vintage in years started off with a moderately hot summer. Even temperatures evolving into a cooler fall resulted in extended hangtime for the grapes. Complex in flavor, evenly ripened fruit with perfectly balanced pH and acidity levels, resulted in the best Camille to date.

Winemaking - - Hand-picked and hand-sorted. Punched down by hand to extract generous color and flavor while producing soft, supple tannins. Racked every 3-4 months to soften and clarify the wine. No additional acidification. Aged 22 months in 60% new and 40% neutral French oak barrels. Unfined, unfiltered.

Vineyards - - The 2006 Camille is a blend of the Valley’s most distinguished vineyards, allowing the wine to possess a completely unique flavor due to the variety of grape sources. The diversity of the sites adds complexity to the wine, with each vineyard bringing a unique contribution to the final blend. Klipsun from Red Mountain and Seven Hills from Walla Walla provided the Merlot, and the Cabernets from Champoux in the Horse Heaven Hills.
