(Château Pichon-Longueville Baron) 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot. Strong color, similar to that of the 2003. Nose showing considerable development—earthy and rich, spicy and good. Palate quite dry and smooth, but a little lacking in charm. Will the tough tannins come around? Savory, mineral, very dry finish, but good concentration for the vintage. Drink in five to 10 years.
