Friday, August 7, 2020 - The new release (I believe 168th). This wine is much more contemplative and a bit celebratory as we were having a 'bubble' dinner with some friends and friends of theirs whose company we've enjoyed quite a bit. It was a lovely evening and this was a great way to start it. The wine is young and to be honest still a bit tight (we'd had this about a week before and similar). Still, there's a lot there and it's enjoyable even in it's youth. Touch more almost earthy style. I'd say dark and brooding but it's funny describing a champagne that way. It did have that impression though. Some toast right at the end. Always one of my favorites esp in the NV range.
