Friday, February 10, 2012 - Bottle and fill excellent, cork soaked, but no seepage and it came out in one piece. Austere but promising initially, ruby-garnet color. With about 45 minutes of decanting, this wine opened up nicely with leather and earth. A bit hard on the finish, but this aspect was not noticeable with food. Perefect compliment to pasta, tomato sauce, parmigiano reggiano and meat balls. A fine, vigorous wine with excellent acidity. Seems at peak - classic brunello.
