90 Points

Sunday, November 26, 2023 - 12.5% alcohol; imported and bottled by Nobilo Wines, Healdsburg (and San Miguel), California; screw top, fragrant grapefruit; fast to medium legs, light yellow with a slight greenish tint; opened and tasted about 10 minutes later at 11 degrees C in a glass designed by Riedel for Chardonnay, nose less grapefruity than the metal cap, more toward pears and kiwi; full bodied, this isn't a casual sipping wine but has a serious, assertive character that persists the full length of the tongue and into the long finish; it is evidently a fruit that doesn't really exist in nature but has similarities to pears, grapefruit, and blackberries that are not quite ripe; pair it with lunch sandwiches or with a burger and fries, I'm thinking here of one of the Five Guys' creations, helped along by fat Virginia peanuts while waiting for your order
