Monday, January 1, 2024 - Bright clear mid red showing the earliest signs of ageing. Nose is complex and savoury; spicy, smoky, earthy, with pinot fruit and sappiness showing underneath. This all continues onto the palate, and after some air a much softer cherry fruit emerges. This is a smart, complex and well proportioned wine, perhaps a tad strong on the oak/stemmy characters, at least upon opening, but that is a personal dislike of mine in general. Plenty of time ahead of it.
