Saturday, November 3, 2018 - Taste New Wines for Nov (San Diego Wine Co.): WAY too cold
Unoaked mix of ALL their Chard clones (76, 95, 96, & 548), whole cluster pressed, 9 mos in s/s tanks, with malolactic blocked; 13.1% ABV, 7.8 g/L T.A., & 3.23 pH; Bottled March 2018
N: Fragrant flowers, pears, poss apples
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish, green apple frt NICELY counterbalanced by a tart acidity which slowly mitigates into & through the LONG, tangy/swt finish with OCCASIONAL *hints* of a very, VERY slight bitterness. For now & into, poss through '21. VERY nicely done in the style -- & I don't know when I last said THAT for an unoaked Chard in this price range! My EXC-. 90 pts ea Wine & Spirits and WS. [This vendor's $16.99 puts it @ the top of wine-searcher's listings.]
