Thursday, December 26, 2013 - Opened and poured through the vinturi and gave off a surprisingly strong, fruity aroma. Tasted and the first sip literally burst with fruit. Surprising, given the light, reddish-brown aged-looking color. Wine settled down right away, however, and the nose mellowed considerably and the fruit dissipated. Time to drink up. A fine Cabernet but at this point won't improve with more age, and except for that explosive first moment, enjoyable but not special.
