Community Tasting Note

Thursday, December 27, 2012 - Odd experience here as the lip of the bottle cracked when I pulled out the cork. As a result, I poured it into a decanter and tasted over 24 hours. This was showing at its best after about 4 hours. The fruit had calmed down a bit and had gained a red profile (at opening it initially showed some black fruit and cola notes). The nose was predominantly cherry, red berries and mineral with a good dose of stems. The palate is well balanced showing a good amount of tannin, but the fruit is equal to it ad it also has enough acid to keep it fresh and vibrant. Nice smooth mouthfeel and full palate throughout.
