Wednesday, December 8, 2021 - Bottle 2 of a 1/2 case purchased on release.

Medium to dark ruby in appearance. Still opaque, with just a touch of lightening at the rim.

Pronounced and evolving aromas of black fruits, cassis, vanilla and some tobacco and spice. More about the fruit now on the aroma, but some of the secondary characteristics are starting to unfold.

Full bodied on the palate with very impressive mouthfeel. The tannins are present but unobtrusive and the acidity is medium (just enough to give it freshness). Lots of flavor intensity, but again more on the fruit than on secondary flavors. The finish is medium plus.

Overall well done and this is a much more evolved bottle than one drunk about 9 months ago. I suspect that this wine will be at its best over the next five years.
