Tuesday, March 5, 2019 - We rarely drink these large scaled wines anymore, but today is Ann’s birthday and this used to be one of her favorites. We popped and poured, using Grassl 1855 glasses. The wine is still showing young and is a long way from showing any tertiary notes. Dark black and blue fruits, with light coffee and chocolate accents. This is a big wine, but it is nicely balanced, and well made. Despite fairly intense flavors, it is not too thick or heavy. A fun change of pace and we both enjoyed it. I’ll try to wait a few years before checking in again.
