Sunday, July 1, 2018 - Drank my final bottle of 2006 Songbook last night which was the best experience of three bottles I have drank over past 10 years. Deep ruby color with no signs of bricking leads to a nose of tobacco, blueberry and dark cherry. Full round palate has no hard edges. The mouthfeel caries nose flavors into the mouth while adding a bit of bell pepper and Asian spice. The velvety tannins last 45 seconds.

I really enjoyed this bottle. I think it is drinking at its peak and do not expect any improvement with further aging. That being said I think it will drink at peak level for at least another 5 years.
