Saturday, June 17, 2017 - Medium ruby. Focused core of blackberry jam on nose, with baking spices, perfumed sweet wood (but not oak), red licorice, forest bark, cloves, trace of grape seed. Taste is a bit astringent, but otherwise classic berry driven WA merlot blend. More berry without jam syrup. Vanillins that used to be present on taste are gone, leaving a delightfully full right bank style wine. Drinking perfectly right now, perhaps another couple years before it enters a mature phase.
