Thursday, April 9, 2015 - This is interesting: the professional notes are all over the place in terms of fruit and secondary notes. Not really helpful to get some orientation. When I tasted it yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised that despite its young age, the wine was very balanced, rounded and drinkable. Dark ruby colour with fat legs, a rather discrete nose with hints of barnyard initially and pencil shavings later. Very nice fruit of blackberry with some dark cherry, vanilla notes and slightly toasted. Tannins are beautifully integrated and it makes for a very complete and balanced palate. The length is a bit disappointing, shorter than what I hoped for. Some nuts and black fruit on the back palate. Enjoyable and, due to the light remaining tannins, a bit unpredictable to predict with age. Hence giving it for now a reduced drinking date by 2019.
