Wednesday, May 1, 2024 - Decanted for two hours. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black plum, boysenberry, shaved dark chocolate, and dried herbs. Almost full bodied with a very elegant structure of smooth, polished, and sturdy tannins wrapped in shiny, juicy acid. There's a seamlessness to it that really impresses. The flavor profile is quite earthy with licorice, violet, allspice, and cracked earth. The red and black fruit is secondary right now, but not without a presence. As it goes into its fourth hour, the fruit develops a bit of welcomed sweetness. The structure makes it quite enjoyable right now, though I’d recommend a 4+ hour decant. I see significant upside development by sitting on this for at least six or seven years.
