Saturday, February 24, 2024 - Tasted on day four, it is still fresh and singing.
A much more citrus driven rendition, and leaner, than the 18 which was much greener and rich from memory.
Herbaceous notes steers blind tasting towards Semillon for a moment, but then the talc and stones start to shine pulling you back in to Riesling territory.
A shame this is no longer made. Length for days, intense flavour, and will last a very long time in a cellar.
It's not moved much in its first 7 years.
To get this quality, in this style, in German GG dry wines you'd be paying many multiples.
Outstanding. Look again in 5 years, minimum. Likely to last another 15. Thankfully under screwcap.
