85 Points

Friday, February 16, 2024 - This is a unique one. Not sure if they intend to make it in the style of Tavel, a rose that I have limited experience with anyway. I say Tavel due to the similar darker color. I can't quite pin down any distinct aromas other than slight suggestions of dusty chalk and very faint strawberry. On the palate, if blinded I'd say this is a white wine due to the fuller, roundish, body with some strawberry. Certainly not a dry wine as there's a suggestion of sweetness, perhaps hidden a touch with the stated 14.1 ABV. At this stage there isn't any tannic dryness either, but not sure if this style ever intended for that. If you want a Provencal Rose certainly look elsewhere as that's clearly not TC's intent. This drinks well for what it isn't and can last a few more years. Giving it an 85 which is the top of the Good rating range.
