Tuesday, December 6, 2022 - Too much heat and tannin. Wine is simply too young. There is a muted aroma of oak with little fruit that will probably open up more in time, but today it just wasn't giving much.
The palate is a little better offering strawberry, and some red fruit. Having said that the finish shows lots of tannin (which I know will soften in time) and heat from the alcohol. Overall, there are better wines in the world for the price Sea Smoke charges. I will revisit in a few years to see how it may develop as much of what I described is probably based on the wine simply being too young.
Rating might be a little unfair based on youth but I still feel that I can achieve the same quality at half the price.
