Tasted blind as part of Blind Pinot Tasting.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of kirsch, white pepper, black berries and black cherries. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and plums. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

My guess was this is a California Pinot Noir. No idea as to vintage or producer.

This wine came in 1st place out of 14 wines with 10 tasters participating giving an average score of 91.50.
