December 15, 2019 - Nice dark cherry and cinnamon and spice on the finish
April 24, 2018 - Tremendous wine. Cellar Tracker, why oh why are your drinking windows so conservative? Perfectly balanced, this wine has quince, capsicum, on the nose beautiful forward palate of fruit and balanced acidity, long and lingering mid palate with quince, capsicum, and dried blueberry, with a loooooooong and satisfying finish that starts with fruit, turns to white pepper, and becomes cayenne pepper. Stunning.
March 6, 2018 - Well. Sadly, this is the last bottle of this wine in my cellar, and it just might be the best of the three (but we might be splitting hairs here). Really light in the glass, really light, like almost rosé light (and a bit cloudy), but an abundance of luscious aromas: Bing cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, and a smattering of earth tones. On the palate, the fruit is deep and profound, but not overbearing, incredible acidity, and a finish that lasts minutes. Several minutes. Oh my goodness, this might be the best Failla I have had. thedrunkencyclist.com
February 3, 2018 - We are big fans of Failla, but our stock is dwindling, so it is a relatively rare occasion that we open a bottle. More than a decade out, this is really an amazing wine. Cloudy in the glass surprisingly, with Black cherry, earth, and verve. Whoa. On the palate still vibrant and tart, with said black cherry and spice. Incredible. thedrunkencyclist.com
February 28, 2016 - bad bottle and cork
September 19, 2015 - One of our absolute favorite producers, located on the Silverado trail in Napa (but most of the fruit for Ehren Jordan’s wines come from Sonoma). Like the Arthur Chard, I have held on to this for a while. The tannins are fully integrated and there is plenty of black cherry left behind. I dare to say that this is new world Pinot at its best. Maybe it’s very best. Outstanding. 92-94 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com
December 16, 2014 - very fruit forward
September 5, 2013 - One of my favorite ever CA pinots. Getting better as it ages. Still vibrant acidity, fruit still primary, but everything coming into more perfect balance now as it ages. This might be a 20 year wine.
March 24, 2012 - Beautiful expression of strawberry, cherry and overall bright fruit. Needs about 30/45 minutes to open to get full array of fruit. Touch of earth notes gives the wine further complexity. Unfortunately, my last bottle but believe this has another 3-5 years till reaching peak due to the nice acidity/balance in the wine.
August 27, 2011 - Darker, more earthy, and less cherry than I would have expected from Keefer fruit (and less "special" than I expect from Failla Jordan), but still a very nice wine to enjoy with friends.
