March 14, 2024 - Their classic Stags Leap District Cabernet with added fruit from their other estate vineyards and sources.
On the nose this shows red/black fruit, wet soil, graphite, cassis, and toasty vanilla.
Med body, Med acid, Med tannin. Altogether seamless and approachable. Less chewy as the previous SLD version and a bit more acid than I recall.
This wine has a lovely freshness to it and leans toward the early drinking side of Cabernet. That said, there is enough acid and tannin here to help this evolve over the next ten years. Great stuff!
