Community Tasting Notes 4

December 23, 2023 - Probably the best Cali Pinot I’ve tried. Not a burgundy copy, slightly broader, riper and sweeter than most old world Pinots. Nonetheless, this has a great balance, sweet and seducing red fruit and good complexity.

Won against Clos de Lambrays 2016 in the blind tasting, although I personally preferred the burgundy.

May 21, 2023 - start and finish with alcohol, Cherrys galore in between, that's about it

May 6, 2022 - This is very youthful and really needs a ton of air to even show a hint of drinkability. Elegant and even lithe with subtle cherry fruit along with notes of mocha and minerals. There is good acidity but certainly a lack of any sweetness of fruit at this point. The finish is taut but fairly thin and leaves me wanting. I drank this next to a similarly priced young Burgundy and there was no comparison. Perhaps it will fill out with age but it just lacks any generosity or complexity.

February 10, 2022 - Wonderful fruit intesnity and purity, with perfectly ripe cherry at its heart. There's floral spice and some undergrowth earthiness. It is a wine of power and flesh, but not heavy in the slightest. It builds through the palate and fans out on the finish like all great Pinot and length of flavour is superb.
