  December 8, 2023 - Drank alongside a 1986 Bouchard Pere et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin at Thanksgiving. Oregon was the crowd pleaser early on, but France finished stronger. Both surprisingly fresh and delicious given sub-optimal storage.

  December 16, 2020 - Lovely stuff, packed with fresh cherry, cinnamon, orange peel, sweet licorice, resonant acidity that easily carries the long, savory finish. Love the perfume wafting out of the glass. A bit of mushroomy/forestal/tea character says this is inching towards maturity but well stored bottles have quite a few years left. I like this a lot and would love to taste again in 5 years but Pinot lovers will enjoy this now.

  March 1, 2014 - From 375 mL. Cork disintegrated in neck of bottle with half cemented in place. Decanted through strainer funnel into glass, rinsed bottle, then put half back in bottle. Despite ham-handed treatment, wine retained most of its clarity with medium transparency through a dark smoky red color. Aromas of spice, loam, cherry, and brine fill the glass. Palate has smoke, cherry, sous bois, and a mushroom tea savory quality that carries into a medium-long finish. This opened and gained sweetness as it got air in the glass. Very satisfying aged Oregon pinot experience, but not yet sublime. Has fruit to keep heading that direction for my tastes. Drink or hold.

  October 24, 2013 - From 375mL. Medium-dark smoky color with medium transparency. Woodsy aromas on the nose with spicy cherry and plum elements. Palate has a tart, earthy core with beet and some dusty raisin joining tart cherry and sous bois. The finish is medium. Last of the bottle was cloudy due to medium-heavy amount of sediment, which muted aromatics but added some roundness to the mid-palate. This isn't yet fully leafy and tertiary, but is on its way. Drink or hold.

  September 8, 2013 - Drank alongside an 1992 DDO Laurene, this bottle was bitter with surprising acidity. Palate was shrill with some faint fruit. Seemed sherry-esque in a way - some folks debated that it had been cooked somewhere along the way. Lots of musty old flavors and past prime, it was nevertheless an interesting exercise to taste them side by side.
