May 16, 2024 - A fantastic bottle. Purchased almost two decades ago in St. Helena. Loved its pencil shavings and cedar and dark fruit. Had this at a dinner hosted by K&L and Vinovault where a bunch of great bottles were circulating and several thought it was one of the wines of the night.

April 12, 2024 - Cork soaked. Base neck fill. Very little sediment. A relatively early maturing Las Cases. Classic tobacco and graphite on the nose and palate with elegantly ripe black and red fruits. Some sweet vanilla Oak and a 20 second finish. Not my favorite Las Cases and I like this wine more some years ago. I was hoping for more depth of flavors and length of finish. Perhaps this was just a slightly off bottle, but for those still waiting on their '82s and '86s, this one is ready now.

March 18, 2024 - Med garnet w/some ruby. Rich soy/umami, cherry sauce, beef blood, pencil lead. Good ripeness; med intensity. Mostly resolved tannins.

10/10/2007 (link)(Leoville-Las Cases) Too ripe, forced and hot. Some "fake" flavors there and the whole thing just seemed wrong. This did not have the authenticity of the other three. Not even close. Too bad as LLC was a great wine once. No longer.
