November 3, 2017 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. was holding on to this bottle as a memory of our last visit to Fromagerie Restaurant. lack of recent notes and fear of going beyond drinking window prompted me to pop the cork. wine proved to be in ok condition. an enjoyable pinot but not very exciting. mostly plum notes. probably will not improve from here. beware the halo effect of the cakebread name. should probably stick to enjoying their cab and chard.

July 10, 2016 - Actually very nice even though this producer over-manufacturer's their wines. Their Carneros is garbage for the money, but this is pretty good. Showed pretty well in lineup of 20+ Cali Pinots.

August 16, 2015 - Clear, bright cherry appearance, no signs of age in color or edge density 5
Restrained nose on first opening (@55drg). Once open, cherry, earthy, custard. 12
In the mouth, balanced acidity, cola, cherry. Not as big as a Sonoma, but bigger than a Bourguignon. 16
Still the same acidity and taste on 4th day as 2nd. 9

September 1, 2013 - No decant. Buttery, heavily oaked nose, with sweet raspberry reduction. Sweet dark red fruit palate, raspberry seed, vanilla bean, dry oak, herbal-edged finish. Juicy and flavorful, but one-dimensional.

August 30, 2013 - I was surprised by this wine. It was better than I had imagined it would be. I got this as part of a club shipment before I dropped out of the Cakebread club. So many of their wines are not "personalized" enough so thus, I had low expectations. It was good. Fruit and floral on the nose. Have not had the Carneros, but the Anderson Valley is drinking well now.
