October 21, 2023 - Just gorgeous. Picked up from WineBid.

Gorgeous nose of some deep fruit and nice aged character. Think leather, dried red fruits, earth. Palate is medium full bodied with nice acidity and still a hint of tannins to give structural support. Finish is all fresh red fruits, kick of acidity, and a backend touch of cedar and cigar box.

Wow. Have to be honest I didn't have the highest perception of Beringer, but for a 20+ year old wine, this is kicking and very much alive. I'd gander that most wine drinkers would presume a 2001 Beringer to be dead on arrival, but certainly not the case here. Flourished through a 6h double decant and another 6h of being in the bottle and served intermittently through dinner.

April 12, 2015 - Lots of new oak, black tea and green olive... Not my favorite. Somewhat astringent and tannic.

August 2, 2014 - Drank at Bellanico. Excellent cabernet, ripe mature fruit with some backbone to last a few more years.
