12/19/23, 5:51 AM - If it is meant as a question I would say yes! No hurry though but I don’t think this one is in it for the long run.
8/9/23, 5:36 AM - I would not hesitate leaving it alone min. 5 years. Enjoy 👍
1/19/22, 6:02 AM - I prefer to give it a bit of air at this point. Good tannins and not at peak yet. Enjoy.
2/17/21, 9:36 AM - So do I. Recently discovered him and love the '17 right now. Good value
6/15/20, 11:33 PM - It been a while since I wrote this post so I cannot recall properly. But thank you for the comment I will think about it next time.
12/1/19, 9:49 PM - May I ask what you mean by "Founder’s Cuvée"? Is there something I am missing is all I would like to know.
12/2/19, 10:32 PM - Thank you. I was just "worried" I had missed something, but we are talking about the same Cuvee I see. Cuvee NFB and one of my favorites.
1/26/19, 11:25 PM - Hi Daniel. In my many years of love with Vintage Port I have found that when opening a "potentially good" bottle it almost always peaks on day 2. And I always decant just after opening. And they are always drinkable after a week. Of course now on its way downhill. Why this happened with my bottle I don't know. Might be bottle variation or something else.
8/20/18, 2:55 AM - Very kind of you and I am interested. But I would have to be convinced to be able to just buy wine like this. Nothing personal of course. What company are we talking about and what is the price?Kind regards
8/22/18, 12:14 PM - Thank you for the offer, But too much I believe before I have it in my cellar. Kind Regards
6/22/18, 10:38 AM - Have had this particular wine in many vintages and really like it. But I am in doubt about this vintage. Not sure it will improve I am afraid. I have another 2 bottles so I shall wait a bit before trying again. Could have been a bad bottle. But let me know if you try one?
10/2/17, 3:13 AM - You are right my posts are becoming rather short :-) So maybe more a help for myself in reality. I am a fan of La Reine so for me it was just a help to say it is still closed. Soft tannins and hidden fruit (Strawberries/Blackberries). Not really giving much pleasure in my opinion right now but will for sure later.
12/22/16, 8:56 AM - My last 3 bottles of the 2005 will also be left alone for some time.
12/8/16, 9:33 AM - I seems your experience with this wine surpasses mine. And of course you might be right. Unfortunately I won't be able to cellar one bottle for further investigation :-)
5/8/15, 3:00 AM - G'Day mate. I have tried other 1.cru from '09 which were quite enjoyable now. But this seemed in a completely closed down state. Good prospects though.
6/21/14, 11:35 AM - I always try to be honest to my taste with regards to giving points. But I must admit that I also get carried away with the name! Also the fact that I have had so many good, older, Beaucastel. 88 points is a lot and it is still a well made wine. Just not my style. I can only imagine that it would benefit from powerful food. BUT, this style just isn't me. So therefore, being a foodie myself, this really won't do good with whatever food is served with it.
4/28/14, 11:32 PM - 90 points is not hard I think! It's just that there are so many powerful and fruity wines around. And I need room to reward the wines that I adore. The wines with more terroir. If memory serves me well I think I have said before that I am no expert in Spanish wine. No expert in any wines for that matter :-) I just write what I taste and hold it against my experience. That name of yours? Does that mean you ride Harley Davidson?
4/21/14, 4:37 AM - Thank's for disgorgement info!
12/26/13, 10:48 AM - Not a problem to disagre. I am by no means an expert on Spain. This was just how it seemed to me, with the few Rioja´s I have had. Merry Xmas as well.
11/25/13, 9:22 AM - No, I haven't been to that restaurant. It's the 5th year that we drive over to Piemonte this time of the year. Only a 3 hour drive for us :-) And I am crazy about their kitchen over there, not to mention the wines of course. This year we spend one day in Milano also! But if you think that restaurant is worth visiting, it will come on the "list" for next year.
11/25/13, 12:51 PM - I have lived now more than 10 years here in the French Alps, where the local dish is Tartiflette. And it is really great on a cold winter day after some skiing :-) And yes how could I avoid Peck's. I remembered it from years ago, and I had to show my wife. I really enjoyed strolling around in the basement. The selection of wines is just crazy. Metusalem of La Tache is not something I see everyday...
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
