5/13/24, 12:12 AM - You can keep for more than a couple of years for sure, I had amazing 10+ Côte du Py from Foillard including from warmer vintages, although I agree that it's hard to guess it'll keep so well when drinking it now (as you say Medium (-) tannins, it does not have the "classic" structure of wines that age well... but it most certainly does). I'd actually say it's maybe the best ageing 20€ wine I have.
5/13/24, 12:07 AM - Something wrong here. This is better than many burgundy villages and some 1er cru, although not from the best producers (would need a bit more concentration to compete). But the multi-layers of fruit, complexity, and a very special/pleasant length, make this a very good wine.
5/10/24, 12:23 AM - I disagree on the "no need to decant" part, a few months ago I've opened 2, the first one was a good wine but with no true personality, nothing unique. The second bottle that was decanted was amazing.
4/8/24, 4:17 AM - Mmmm it means my bottle had a problem then (came directly from domaine and stored professionally but you never know). I don't have any other 2018, but I have a couple 2019 that I'll try to compare. But the bottle I had definitely didn't have markers of vins de macération (bitterness, complexity, tannins, intensity..) which is weird as well.
3/31/24, 2:45 PM - Nice. Indeed I only have (and tasted) from the 2010s, always OK, but always underwhelmed so far, I'll keep them for some serious ageing!
6/13/22, 12:34 AM - It might have been TCA, but i don't think so, really 0 trace on the palate (which is possible indeed), and no smell on the cork as well... the unpleasant smell was closer to a wine that is passed is age or that was stored badly. I can't judge by only having 2 bottles, but i wouldn't suggest buying this wine at that point... I'll have a 1982 soon, much better vintage, let's see!
