4/14/24, 5:26 AM - My note from a year ago was more in line with other recent notes, so this bottle surprised me. My only concern then was whether the alcohol would become more prominent. It did. Off bottle? Possibly, but not flawed. I can only record what I taste.
9/29/21, 1:25 PM - Thanks for the advice. I suspected something was off given the string of recent excellent reviews of this wine as well as its reputation. This got about 90 minutes of a “slow O” type of airing. Obviously not enough. I have two more bottles and will take your advice the next time I try them.
9/7/21, 6:36 AM - I have tried to love the Walter Scott chards, but like you I don’t get them. They’re not bad, but far from exceptional.
7/23/21, 9:36 AM - SARED, This actually cuts the drinking window by 2 years from my first note shortly after release in late 2019. It also seems consistent with other notes here on CT. I love the wine but find it light textured and precise (and I love that). My experience is that such wines are best drunk earlier (of course, that's a relative term) if you want that gorgeous fruit to stand out. I do. Could it go longer? Sure, but I'd rather drink it a bit too soon than too late. YMMV and I wouldn't argue with that.
2/22/21, 7:28 PM - Yes, a BD purchase. As to whether other reviews were influenced by Kelly’s position at WA I couldn’t say. I really wanted to like these wines, but I just couldn’t honestly do so.
1/29/21, 8:00 AM - Same comment. The review and the score don't match. Typo?
1/3/21, 3:51 PM - This was purchased on release from a very reputable store in California. Stored in my cellar at 56 F since then. So storage isn't an issue.
6/9/20, 7:17 AM - I hope you're right about this being a bad bottle. I have another which I will try in a year or two and see. I can only report on what I taste, however.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
