I brought this bottle to a larger family gathering of wine drinkers. I opened and decanted the bottle 3-4 hours ahead. The cork was soaked though in places and wine was damp at the top but the seal was intact due to the wax cap. The wine was not at all oxidized or corked. It was nicely balanced on initial tasting (mouth feel, soft tannins, low acid, long finish) but was a bit closed at first, opening over those couple of hours I decanted ahead. Overall very alive, nicely balanced, excellent cab that had the advantage of large format aging (3.0L). Cheers!!

The nose offered a lot of different characteristics; strawberry, cherry, leather, coffee. The mouth leaves one flat... makes one wonder about the PP. Not complaining about obvious flaws. Soft tannin. good acid balance.

Dehlinger never fails to impress. Nose, body, fruit, mouth feel, finish. We can talk about various fruit high notes but overall a fine fine wine. Enjoyed a 1.5L over dinner with friends.

Gathering of wine tasting friends for dinner. The Laurel was one of my favorites among several Paso Robles blends and 2 Walla Walla blends. The Laurel was well balanced with just a hint of mint (not at all minty just bright)

My wife notes (she has a better nose than I do). I find no flaw. Spicy. Acidity present for good balance. Leather, spice, and pepper on the nose with strawberry hints. KB never disappoints.

I'm hoping this is just a bad bottle and I'm not talking about being "corked." I'm talking about the early run of the bottling that may been watered down that does not represent the run as a whole or some such other fault. Having stored this correctly since I received it from the winery as a club shipment, I was very much looking forward to opening this bottle. I was sorely disappointed. When I couldn't describe the wine, I called on my wife who has a much finer palate than I. She could only describe a hint of rose on the nose. In the mouth only the most generic character. The balance was not off in terms of high acid. And the finish was certainly long enough of nothing much. I could only give it an 88; perhaps it rates an 89. It does not rate $90 a bottle. I will open my next bottle with great anticipation.

This is not a dislike wine. Just a little empty in the mouth. Touring Napa wine country in 2014 we went to 3 different wineries that claimed to have the only tap on the only 40 acres of Charbono that existed in the USA (T-Vine being one). Tasting then is not a lot different than today. My wife (who has a palate much more refined than mine) offers cherry kola with hints of leather and tobacco and tar with vanilla (overall dark). Higher on the acid side making it not a drinking wine (opposed to a food wine) with a short finish. We enjoyed it with a salmon dinner. NB: we did not decant ahead.

Wine tasting with friends. I brought this Daou as part of a vertical 2010, 2011, 2012. The 2010 was the star by all criteria (nose, mouth feel, balance, finish). The 2011 showed higher acid and less fruit. The 2012 was getting there on the overall.

Cherry on the nose with a hint of leather and chocolate. Cherry with slight strawberry in the mouth with a hint of kola and very subtle mint; nothing forward. Remarkable balance as usual. Tannin present but not at all tight or chewy. Long finish... Beaux Freres does not disappoint.

Dehlinger never disappoints. Cherry on the nose with a woodsy note. Cherry with subtler flavors of blueberry, strawberry, chocolate, and hazelnut. Balance in the mouth on the acid side with and acid finish. Great paring wine.

Wow... Blueberry nose with blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, hint of cherry and kola in the mouth. This is NOT a flower bomb/fruit bomb. This is elegant, subtle, balanced, round in the mouth with a long finish. A joy to drink. Bravo!

I'm sorry I have an attitude about Lorenzi but they simply over rate their product. I didn't dislike this wine. There were no glaring flaws. But there was no fruit on the nose. There was some leather, tobacco, fig, and prune in the mouth. Higher acid than I like; I'm saying not rounded in the mouth. And the finish was all acid. My apologies to the French style aficionados who think acid is the bomb but I like what I call a drinking wine. One that can stand alone. I live in Frederick Maryland; I have been to wine country in Temecula on 5-6 different visits for the purpose of tasting wine. I can only give it an 88-89 rating and not worth the asking price.
