Very sweet. Black fruit leads, some red fruits, plenty of acid to back it up, all nicely balanced. Bare hint of reductiveness. Secondary flavors just beginning to emerge. Amazingly youthful for a 12-year old wine. While my taste lately is inclining away from the ripeness of California Pinots, there's a lot of pleasure here. Drink the next in a year or two.

10/29/14, 9:24 PM - An hour after opening: more distinct flavors of plum and currant. Lots of acid! At least five years left in this one, from a cold cellar, maybe 10. Whether it'll improve: not clear - look forward to seeing.

Flavors of banana, peach, honey, hint of lemon meringue. Some bright acidity. Lovely with marrow bones. Not at all profound; a simple pleasure. Might improve.

7/1/14, 7:31 PM - Improved after a month in the frig under Coravin; more honey, more unctuous mouthfeel, just a hint of truffle. 91 pts.

Not special in any way, either good or bad. Best I can say: decent acidity.

Tastes like Paulliac; very much belies its new world origins. Plummy, red fruit, cedar. Not overly sweet, rich, or jammy. Lead pencil on the finish.

6/6/14, 8:30 PM - After a day under Coravin, the fruit is bolder, jammy; not as nice. 90 pts.
