Continued to improve over two days. Gritty, dark berries, soft tannin, mid-high acidity, and a long finish. Very good.
White
Medium lemon-gold color. White peach, green herbs, underripe berries on the nose. Gooseberry, lime pith, grapefruit on the palate. Intense, piercing acidity, but a round, rich, savory palate—an unexpected juxtaposition. The acidity and green fruit cut their way through the palate in an intense edge-of-pain-and-joy sort of way, with a. Long finish of slightly less punishing fruit and a bit of savory notes offer relief. I’m wishing for a drop of more ripe fruit not to balance the wine exactly but to offer the palate a bit of false hope. Interesting wine.

Citrus, traditional sauv-blanc gooseberry, some green stone fruit, lime peel. Intense steely, mineral/saline palate. Medium bodied. High acidity. Very long finish. This is starting to develop some very pretty savory notes to go with the fruit and verve. Quite enjoyable now with some air. Drink now (but give it a few hours of air) or wait--no hurry at all, though I can't speak to long-term projections.

Pretty, but very soft. Stone and citrus fruit, minerality. Not at all a light or finessed Kabinett, without zing or precision. Not my style.
White
Apples, light honey, and a bit of chalky and minty/herbal. Still quite youthful. Juicy, easy drinking, but not very complex. Fairly soft finish of apple skin.
White
Like rieslingdan, this bottle had a secondary cork of tartaric acid. An initial attack of sweet tropical fruit and pineapple yields to a more lean citrus and lime peel. Excellent acidity, long finish. Really yummy.

Wow, so much more impressive than one would (or should) expect from a modest wine that was about $20 on release. Orchard, citrus, and stone fruit, crushed brick, green herbs. An initial sweetness yields to the high acidity. Still quite youthful. More joyfully opulent and less linear than I usually expect from Donnhoff. Yum.

Comes across pretty ripe and lush but with a day's air shows a bit more restraint and sophistication. Nice spice and red berries, with low tannin and medium zesty acidity. Nice.

Strawberry-dominant nose and palate, with good acidity and a bit of lemon in the fairly short finish. Like past bottles, simple, lacking in complexity and depth. A very bad QPR.

Fairly pronounced nose of flowers and red berries. On the richer side, with a silky mouthfeel. Bright red and black berries, bit of stemminess and herbaceousness. Nicely structured; tannins and acidity are well integrated. Drinking quite well.
Red
2007 Ridge Geyserville Sonoma County Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel (view label images)
Continues to be a vintage that does not impress. Red berries, dusty, good acidity, but lacking complexity.
Rosé - Sparkling
I have not had much complexity from any of Inman’a sparkling wines, and this one is no different. Enjoyable, but fairly simple and short. Very overpriced for the quality.

Very round, sweet, but beneath that is a traditional Barbaresco with tar, rose petals, red berries. Dusty tannin, fairly low acid. A different Barbaresco than I expected, with the sweetness and lower acid, but interesting in its own right.
Red
Medium ruby. On open, surprisingly restrained nose, but explosive on the palate. Red berries, rose petals, some green stemminess. Rich, medium-full bodied, with mouth-watering acidity and low, fine tannin. Yummy. Drinking great now.
White
Juicy; apricot and other stone fruit; rich but not heavy, lots of apple skin acidity. Still quite youthful; so gulpable and delicious.
Red
A very easy to drink wine. Plenty of black and blue fruit, mouth-watering acid, and good tannin. Not very complex, but well structured and flavorful.
Red
Purple. Blueberries and spice in the pronounced nose. Rich, concentrated. Blue fruit, earth, very juicy. Still quite young but quite approachable and drinkable now, though should develop more complexity with five or more years.
Red
Medium-dark ruby/brick. Nose of raspberries, kirsch, and a bit of horsey/Brett notes. Silky, rich mouthfeel. Berries and Brett on the palate that appeared cleaner and more pure on day 2. Still good tannin and sufficient tannin to age; some sweetness on open. A bit awkward and surprising initially that improves with a day of air. Hold.
Red
Very pronounced nose of blackberries, herbs, warm (oak) spices. Round, full mouthfeel. Sourness and acidity through a juicy palate. Tannins suggest plenty of life yet.

Red
Loads of tar with dried flowers, figs/plums and dried black fruit showing some advance age. The tannins are still prominent and the acid is mouthwatering. Very pretty wine but with some advanced sour notes.
Red
Really rich and full bodied, but excellent Nebbiolo character and structure. Medium-high tannin that may never fully integrate and medium acid. Not an amazing wine, but a great QPR.

Bright ruby. Cherry and stone nose. Medium-light body and tannin, medium cherry acid. Cherry, cranberry on the palate, with acid carrying the finish. Juicy. As always, a joyful wine.
White
Consistent with most recent note; an absolute joy in a lean style with focused acidity.

Apples and honey on the palate. Sweetness seems a bit unintegrated though hopefully that resolves with time. Not the opulent joy-in-a-bottle juiciness I often get from Schaefer.
Red
2005 Château Cos d'Estournel St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Open six hours. Fairly low-intensity nose, restrained nose. Palate is showing only a little fruit and solid tannin. Showing promise but still quite young and needs more years.

Medium ruby-brown Nose has some berries and tar but also a bit of leather and older-wine sour notes. The palate is much better than the nose. Medium body, chewy, gritty tannin, cherry, juicy acids. Medium-long finish. A very good wine that appears to be showing signs of peaking. Drink now.

Such a disappointment. Weird unintegrated sweetness. An artificial note with no champagne character. Twelve people and the bottle remained unfinished. Just absolutely horrible.

What an amazing beautiful wine. Tangerines, clementines, minerals, herbs, a bit of petrol, just a touch of sweetness, and acidity that goes on and on and on. Perfectly balanced, light, sophisticated. An absolute joy.

Past it’s prime and approaching generic old red wine territory

Red apple, sweet pear, lime zest, and orange peel on the palate. Medium bodied, rich fruit, tart. Hollows out at the end, leaving some acidity and a bit of pear skin into the finish. More interesting than most domestic Pinot Gris, but that’s not necessarily much of a compliment.
Red
A reasonably nice blackberry, pepper, and sweet oak entry, but then the mid palate is Zinfandel-flavored juice, and there is no finish outside of some drying oak. Meh.

This is not a “buttery Chardonnay.” It is oak-aged popcorn topping with a bitter orange peel finish. Why does this exist?

Deep amber color. Explosive nose of baked apple, sweet spice, dried pineapple. Full bodied, spicy, stone fruit, light honey. Quite sweet but with (just a bit shy of perfect) acidity, almost refreshing to drink. Very long finish. This is drinking very well right now.

A different experience than my last bottle. needed a couple of hours of air to show pretty, mature wine. Raspberries, cocoa, some animalistic notes. Full bodied. Medium chewy tannin and refreshing dark-fruited acidity. Drink now or soon.
Red
Again showed austerity and harshness upon open. I added some argon and left it for two days. A very different wine—still not fruit-forward, but with pretty, crunchy red fruit on the attack and some sappinews on the mid palate to go along with the structure. Medium tannin, medium-plus acid.
Red
This took many hours to come together—thought it was corked on open—but drank very well, especially the next day. Juicy and dense. Wild berry, with some dark fruit. The tannin are still somewhat tight though very approachable the next day.
Red
This has such unbelievably silky structure, especially with lots of air, with tannins very present but so soft and the medium-high acidity lingering for a full minute. On the palate, berries, chocolate, dried flowers, some woodiness the nose and palate aren’t blowing me away but the structure and mouthfeel make this an excellent wine.

Berry, sappy goodness, with plenty of youthfulness. Long finish of sappy, zippy acidity. Even better the next day. Yum!

Ripe blackberry, chocolate/cacao, and herbal sap on the palate. Full bodied, low tannin, medium-minus acid. Bold, flavorful, and boring/structureless.
Red
Medium brick/tawny color. Floral berried nose. Very well structured with the tannins approachable but firm and enough acidity to carry through the finish. Palate isn’t very deep, with tar, red fruit, and flowers. Held well over nearly 24 hours.
Red
2018 Skipstone Preface Alexander Valley Red Blend (view label images)
Opaque ruby color. Mostly cherry and sour red berries with a bit of smoke and spice. Way too young, with medium acid and sharp medium tannin.

Quite pleasant and surprisingly good for the price. Tropical fruit, herbs, medium body, juicy, medium-high acidity. Medium finish. Bit hollow but that’s being picky about a $14 Bordeaux.
White
Very pleasant, with citrus peel, stone fruit, and florals on a delicate frame with lemon acidity carrying a long finish.
Red
Shortly after opening, this seemed disjoint but with several hours of air and in fact 24(!!) hours later, showed more integrated rich fruit and lively acid. Give it time.
Red
I guess it it is a good night for wine when a 2001 Gaja gets only passing attention, but this showed very well, with a beautiful nose; drinking very well now.
Red
Bright berry fruit, a bit of pepper. Clearly zin. Simple but good. Very fine tannin. Good acidity. Short finish.
Red
Rich, viscous mixed berries and plums on the palate, with a bit of sweetness yields to oaky blackberry jam. Dusty tannin. Medium acid that perhaps is a bit light given the fruit concentration. Medium finish.

Fairly consistent with past notes; if you have to open a "buttery" Chard for others but also prefer to enjoy a glass yourself, this hits well.
