Initially quite blowsy on opening, but it somehow tightened up with air and became more focused and linear, with minerality, lemon character and a cool herbal streak to the fore. Very enjoyable.

Really glorious, fresh, zingy and not too austere. Shows just a touch of development but still very youthful. Lemony and green on the palate, more lemon candies than raw lemon juice - just the right balance.

Very dense and meaty, concentrated, quite broad-shouldered. Better from a larger glass and not too cold. Showed very well and is in a good place to drink now.

Very suave and silky, tannins still there but nicely integrated with fruit, spreads across the palate and very long. Tertiary notes coming through but plenty of time left. Great to drink now.

Very good, smokey and herby. Feels quite waxy on the palace and really opens up as it warms up. Better than earlier bottles and seems in a great place to drink.

Very good, leafy and smoky, powerful but also elegant, blackcurrants and blackcurrant leaves, long. Lower alcohol compared to warmer vintages and it benefits the wine.

Surprisingly approachable - I expected it to be quite foursquare. In a nice phase with fruit still being there but with secondary notes coming through. Tannins very much there so better with food.

Lovely, needs to warm up, white flowers and roasted pineapple - rich but balanced and doesn't feel over the top. Served with a home roasted ham glazed in orange marmalade and it complimented it beautifully.

Was not sure what to expect but really enjoyed it. The key seems to be its food pairing - with grilled mackerel in smoked paprika sauce and red peppers it went really well, but not one to sip by itself.

Seemed a bit tannic on opening so we decanted it. However the structure somehow fell apart after an hour or so in the decanter so on balance we preferred it before decanting. Mellow, balanced, rich.

Very pleasant, starting to show tertiary aromas and flavours. In a good place to drink now. Mildly spicy with clove, cinnamon and prune flavours but not over the top.
