Very good richness and ripeness on the nose which is still a little closed; lovely flavour and silky texture on the palate. Very good indeed this vintage, one of the best wines in the room. 94-96

Nice nose - malty red fruits. Simple; a little slight and acidic. Some bitter tannins. Short. 83-85.

This was a really good bottle of Piper - I hadn't had this house for a few years and was really impressed; lovely autolytic character on the nose and a good richness of flavour on the palate. I must admit it has so much more to offer than many NV champagnes at a similar price e.g. Moët, Lanson, Perrier-Jouet. Very delicious.
