From magnum. Flinty with subtle hints of tropical fruit. An outstanding California chardonnay is in a superb drinking window. We had the balance of the magnum the night after its opening and the wine was still humming even though the partial bottle had not been vacuum sealed.

when first opened, the wine seemed overly tannic and closed. After breathing for two hours the wine opened nicely with aromas of spiced berries.

This wine was really humming tonight. Deep, deep color with intense blackberry and cassis fruit. IMO this wine has at least five years of very fine drinking.

Full-bodied and unctuous, but not at all "hot" despite the alcohol level. A wonderfully tasty wine that has quite a few years of excellent drinking ahead of it.

One of the best California chardonnays I have had, ranking with Aubert, Peter Michael, Morlet, etc. Hard to believe that this wine is still going strong at age 17.

Golden in color, but completely dry and not oxidized. Very Burgundian and, in fact, far better than a 2005 Corton-Charlemagne that I drank earlier this month. A superb bottle of wine. The time in the bottle was worth the wait.

A restrained sauterne that is sweet but not overly so. Wonderful botrytis and nose of creme brûlée and roasted apricots. IMO this wine has another 10 years of fine drinking.
