Deep ripe fruit flavors - blueberry and blackberry. Graphite and vanilla. Nice tannins and structure. Too ripe for my taste, but a very solid wine.

Drank with Bobby (the mysterious BB52 of cellartracker) while we planned the barrel of wine we are making at Crushpad. Opened 4 hours before drinking and then drank over a 3 hour period. Deep ruby color – not as extracted as I was expecting. Wonderful cherry and chocolate flavors with a delicious peppery spiciness. Tannins were present, but not too powerful – it is drinking really well right now. You can taste a bit of the alcohol heat on the finish, but surprisingly little for a 15.9% alcohol wine. This should be decanted or aged a few more years – it just got better and better as time went on and it opened up.
