Although not completely premox (as was the '02 Fevre Bourgros I opened first) it is clearly on its way there. Just barely drinkable, so still a disappointment.
I find it hard to convey how depressing it is to find so many of my white burgundies suffering from premature oxidation. It leads me to open one with trepidation these days, & to have another on hand in case. The Burgundian wine industry owes its customers at least a complete explanation for this wide-spread phenomenon, if not some degree of compensation.

12/12/17, 11:59 AM - Much appreciate the other comments on my post. Although I am not familiar enough with all the reports of premox, I accept Vagrantone's comment to the effect that it is not common in wines of 2007. Obviously, it could be a storage issue (wine well stored in controlled cellar by me, but not as certain of it's prior provenance - I know I purchased it before 2014 but lost my notes on from whom) and the wine could simply be over the hill, I have another bottle and will post a comment when I open it.

I do very much concur with enfantterrible in decrying the sadness of the premox issue in general, and would appreciate hearing form anyone about the issue as it applies to the 2007 vintage.

I am at a total loss to understand the relatively mediocre ratings of this wine - to me it is the classic mature cab, comparable in my memory to the 78 Phelps Eisele - only the '97 Screagle in my mind beats it. and not by much - Many Colgins and Abreus I've had are close, but perhaps not drunk at this stage of perfect maturity - i was not expecting this - spectacular!

7/27/16, 8:10 AM - A wise man once said that there are no great wines, only great bottles - although I have no notes, I know that I once opened another bottle of this wine, and since there is, as I said, no notes, I suspect I wasn't nearly as impressed. We'll see with the next bottle I try

One of the most interesting wines I've ever tasted. Inky black, tasting of coffee, chocolate, tar. My guests and I all agreed on the excitement, drank only a third of bottle - expect the rest to last indefinitely.

11/26/15, 8:00 AM - Just keep it on the shelf.. Believe it is like a fine Madeira and keeps virtually forever.. Mine tastes the same today as when I first opened it

11/26/15, 9:07 AM - No! Right out on the bar. I like it a (little) bit chilled & put it in the fridge for a few minutes, but don't over chill it, but I keep it out othrwise. Could keep it in a decanter but the bottle is so attractive

11/2/15, 8:15 AM - ?change in one year; ? bottle variation - - opened a bottle of the 04 Uccelliera Ris that same week and found it still tannic, though quite good -
really can't explain it, except the old maxim: no such thing as a great wine, only a great bottle
