This is a nice wine, however, I reduced the drinking window significantly. In my opinion, this wine needs to be drunk in the next 2-3 years.
The colour is a clear yellow. Nose is a bit disappointing, not very expressive.
Flavours are nice, butter, caramel, tropical fruits, a bit of sweetness. Acidity is ok, however, for a Bourgogne, not the freshest of wines I know and drink. Aftertaste also ok, not very long or impressive.
This may have been an underperforming bottle, if not and this is it, than I am a bit disappointed in this wine.

This is obviously a wine which is over its top. Color was intense yellow.
The wine was still fresh, not oxidized at all. It lost strength in nose and flavors but still pleasant to drink.Actually a surprise.

Transparent ruby colored wine. A bit like cranberry juice. It smells like strawberry and blueberry, not very strong though. Fresh.
Plenty of fruit, light berries, soft tannins, smooth, light to medium bodied, alcohol is not too noticeable. There are some sweet tones and sufficient acidity. It is fresh and all is nicely in balance. Perhaps, one could call this wine a bit boring because of that. Considering the EUR 14 I paid for this wine, it is very good value. Although the wine has fruit and is fresh, I think it should be drunk within the next three years.

Quite a nice glass of wine.
Still purple in the color, however, the edges are a bit watery and show the age of the wine.
Nose is powerful and expressive. There is perhaps a bit too much alcohol that is not hidden anymore by fruit.
Medium full bodied, tannins are reasonably smooth but have not disappeared (decanted the bottle an hour and a half before drinking). The wine is almost sweet, ripe fruits, good long aftertaste with some dryness from tannins.

Nose of ripe fruits, melon, ananas, not mineral. Although alcohol % is 14,5, it is not really noticeable.
Flavours of tropical fruits, apricot and butter. Balance is ok, acidity is limited but adequate, a bit of a sweet undertone. For a white wine, quite full bodied with a long presence in the mouth.
The wine can still be kept for a couple of years.
All in all, a nice glass of wine to be combined with fish with creamy sauce or chicken and veal. Think would do well with medium spicy (Asian) food as well.

Definitely old and probably long over its prime but still drinking nicely. Unexpected!
Nose lacks fresh fruit, more a combination of prunes and pepper and …
Taste is still fresh with ripe cherries and sweet. Alcohol is noticeable, even in 1999 this wine already managed to get to 14.5%.
Aftertaste is pleasant, not long.
I had to decant as the cork did not come out in one piece but the wine is holding well. Second glass is even better than the first one as the temperature has risen to around 16 degr celsius.

The nose is not very expressive, perhaps I should have opened the bottle earlier. It is pleasant though, however, the flavours are stronger, almost an explosion of fruits, medium full bodied, still a dry undertone from the tannins, which are present but not harsh. The alcohol is clearly noticeable, I think the level is acceptable, however, a percentage point less would make the wine fresher and even more enjoyable.
All in all, a nice tasty glass of wine, not comparable with a pinot noir from Bourgogne but I suppose no one is looking for that when buying this wine.

Compared to the Volnay 2009 we drunk before this wine, the Chambolle was a bit disappointing. Not as fresh and fruity. Less elegance, less special. Perhaps still a bit too young?

A bit disappointing, just an ok wine, nothing special. With almost 25 years of age, the wine did not seem tired though, still plenty of fruit in the mouth.

This wine showed no age yet, still fresh and vibrant. An explosion of fruit, medium bodied. Smooth tannins, balanced acidity and a pleasant aftertaste.

To start with: I gave a “neutral” while this type of Riesling is not really my type of wine.
Having said that, for an 18 year old wine, this Riesling still seemed young. still a bit of petrol in the nose, however, a very fresh lively impression, no notice of sweetness. However, for me the taste is a bit too sweet. Not the sweetness of a good Sauternes, much less complex. The wine still has a nice acidity to compensate for the sweetness. One way or the other the nose and taste are nicely balanced. Although it is not my wine, I think it is a very acceptable Riesling, certainly considering I only paid EUR 13 for it.

This wine was over its age. Still drinkable, not corked or spoiled in a technical manner, however, lacking nose and flavors other than heavy notes of prune. lack of tannins, lack of acidity. Just old without energy and anything attractive.
I think the below rating of drinkable until 2033 is a mistake.

Wine is getting old, start of oxidation, still good to drink with a nose of tropical fruits and caramel flavor. The wine in a certain way gives the impression of being sweet. However, the finish is still crisp with plenty acidity.

This is a very nice Volnay. Complex, pleasant nose with a bit of prunes, also berries. The colour and transparency is unmistakably pinot noir. Taste is in harmony with the nose, quite expressive, round, very smooth tannins, not overly alcoholic; yummi! Give it an hour after opening or use a decanter. I do not think that the wine will improve, it is a good time to drink.

I used it for coq au vin. However, I tasted a bit and I was actually impressed. Should have drank it, it was clearly b etter than the Saint Joseph I had chosen to drink.
Dark red fruits and a bit of plum on the nose, fresh, medium bodied with a long aftertaste.

it has a nice liquorice red fruits nose with some smokiness.
warm red fruits flavor, some smooth tannins left, medium body, medium to long finish. a pleasant glass of wine.
Although declared over the top already in 2016, I like this wine, it still shows fruit and is a good not to complicated glass of mature wine.
We consumed the wine relatively fresh, certainly under “room” temperature, which I think works well.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry jam and blackberry. Not the prunes that are often too present in similar age south Rhone (and other regions) wines. Fresher than I expected, younger.

Taste of berries with hints of chocolate and light toast. Still dry, some tannins left. Delicious.

The body is medium/full and smooth with a long finish. Medium acidity.

All in all, a very nice glass of wine, still surprisingly fresh and fruity. Not a wine to keep for many more years, it is probably over its peak. I am looking forward to combining this with a nice filet de biche with a raspberry game sauce.

the first bottle from the case was heavily oxidized and undrinkable. So I was concerned that all bottles would be oxidized. Nothing is less true, this second bottle is all I love in Meursault, smokey nose, buttery with full and mature flavors of peach and with a nice acidity. I do think that the wine should be consumed in the next year.

This wine is still in very good shape. It shows age, however there is still fruit in nose and taste (and not just prunes) and the wine is still powerful. Remaining tannins are smooth and there is a nice balance between ripe fruits and acidity. Considering that this is a relatively inexpensive wine, I find it a top performer.

warm, alcoholic nose (alcohol only 13%, however that is my impression). It is not unpleasant, however, also not impressive. There are hints of fruit, not heavey, no pruny wine, elegant actually.
The flavour is absolute berries, fruit, with a nice acidity and a long, long aftertaste, which is enjoyable. Tannins are noticeable, however, not at all disturbing. The wine is smooth, medium body, good value for money. I am going to finish the bottles I still have within the next two years.

The wine is still deep purple red. Not really an old look. No watery edges. Clear pencil lead on the nose, a cabernet nose, not overly impressive, however still present and enjoyable. The wine tastes fresh, tannins are soft, however still present. Wine still has body and tastes fruity. Medium to long aftertaste. Adequate acidity as well. I expected this wine to be gone by now. So pleasant surprise.

Not my type of wine. I do like the typical Riesling nose with clear hints of petrol. The wine is round, full, nice. It is fresh and there is still plenty of fruit. Nice as well. However, there is a sweetness that is too much for me. Yes, it is balanced by acidity, quite a bit of acidity. Short and not impressive aftertaste. It lacks harmony. I would consider this an easy drinking aperitiv wine for people who like Mosel wines. Cool it down and enjoy.

Let me start with explaining why I scored the wine in the “good” range: it is a proper balanced, full bodied, pleasant to drink wine. It is not more than that although all its power may be impressive. It lacks tannins and acidity, so depending on your taste, you may not like this at all.
The nose has strong hints of blueberry and prunes. Nice but heavey. The moment you smell it, you know it is not a fresh, light red wine. Power, body. The flavours confirm that. Dark fruits, full body, smooth, sweet, lack of acidity, little complexity, nice long aftertaste. Alcohol is quite present. 14% is not nothing but the wine gives me the impression of even more. That probably helps in liking the wine ..... Oh, if you own it, no need to keep it for many years to come. I would be surprised if this wine gets any better with ageing.

The wine has a deep red color with a purple undertone. It becomes watery/thin towards the edges showing a bit of age. Nose of warm red fruits and prunes. Alcohol is noticeable in the nose but not too strong. Taste is full, warm and smooth but there is sweetness combined with acidity and freshness. Some tannins left as well but overall impression is smooth. Aftertaste is long and nice.
I suggest not to drink this wine too warm. I think 15 degr Celsius is the perfect temperature to enjoy.

Straw yellow, seductive nose of melon, tropical fruits, butter, ; full and nice. No oxidation. Taste is round and smooth with a long aftertaste. The wine lacks a bit of the typical acidity of a modern Bourgogne Chardonnay. Nevertheless a nice balanced glass of wine with no signs of too much age.

This wine is disappointing. Not much aroma. Cannot recognize Chardonnay. Taste is sweet at start, finishing with a bitter. Lacks freshness and acidity. One can find better wines for half (or less) of the price of this wine. But it is Swiss so cannot expect it to be cheap.

Something not in order with this wine; ended up using it as basis for a red wine sauce which worked well. Aroma is awkward, flavour flat and not particularly nice. Definitely not corked but also definitely not living up to even an average Bourgogne Pinot Noir. (this was third bottle I had with similar experience so it is not something that I consider specific for this bottle.)

Nice glass of wine, ready to drink. Some thought it was a mature Grenache wine, Rayas was mentioned. So not a typical Bourgogne Pinot Noir.
Pinot Noir type of transparent red, just becoming a a bit light at the edges. Impressive nose with notes of ripe berries. Peppery. A mouthfull of wine with a smooth medium long finish.
