12/27/22, 6:54 AM - @stormcat no, it was the right vintage and wine, but the wrong notes for it. thanks for pointing that out. I put in the correct notes.
5/13/22, 1:56 AM - Yes, I'm aware of that. But it can't be done via Phone and I nearly never use my laptop. This is more a paste and copy from my notes on Instagram.
10/1/21, 12:18 PM - Love your notes 🤣👍🏻
2/28/21, 4:30 PM - Sure, I'm sorry for the short note mate. I'm posting more detailed notes on Instagram. I decanted the wine for a little more than 3 hours. No pairing at all - I did a 2015 Saint Julien tasting. If you're on Instagram look me up @you.had.me.at.pinotKind regardsDennis
11/3/20, 8:51 AM - Hi Dave, sorry for the late answer. I would wait another five years before opening a double magnum. Shoud be fine until 2030-2035. Cheers Dennis
11/8/20, 1:48 AM - Hi Dave,I have a climate controlled cellar which I run at 11 degrees Celsius (52 F).Its a small cellar but I manage to store more than 3,000 bottles there. If you have an instagram account you can follow me, my name there is you.had.me.at.pinotCheers and stay safeDenis
9/30/20, 1:18 PM - No decanting necessary in my opinion. Just let it breathe for 30-60 min after opening when you think it’s a little to tight.
9/23/20, 1:14 AM - No, unfortunately not.
7/3/20, 11:06 PM - It wasn’t my bottle. Was a bottle from my friends cellar. The bottle was fine - no obvious faults. I don’t think that it was purchased upon release - I guess it’s from winbid or something like that. Probably storage issues since the other notes sound amazing. On the other hand, 38 years for a Barbaresco is quite a lot - might have been a cork issue too.
6/20/20, 5:42 AM - Hi Eric, why do you score it 99 points and comment on your own rating with a different score. Please put in the score you want to give it, otherwise it makes no sense.
6/20/20, 5:48 AM - You can easily edit it and change the score.
7/17/19, 10:27 AM - That’s funny, I had this one yesterday evening while sitting in the garden. I put in my score and saw that you had it at a restaurant just 40m away from my home. The World is small planet. Cheers to Maryland.
3/22/19, 2:24 AM - Since double magnums need a little more time I would suggest opening it somewhere between 2022-2030. But as always, if you want to drink it, just open it whenever you want and give it some air. I always decant larger bottles in regular decanter so that they get more air. Cheers
2/9/19, 3:03 PM - Actually 87 is a pretty high note for a wine, maybe you should reconsider your rating and lower it. I totally like the wine btw.
1/27/19, 1:01 PM - Ups, thanks! I mean left bank.
5/10/18, 1:59 AM - Good question and to be honest i had to look it up since I always try to avoid these wines. The "Kammerpreismünze" on the neck of the bottle does still exist. It is organized by the individual German states (Bundesländer). It is more used for wines in the low price segment and in my opinion it says nothing about the quality of the wines. If you're looking for good German producers take a look in here: www.vdp.de/en/home/ - you nearly never go wrong with these producers.
2/26/18, 10:03 AM - @the playerNo, I didn't decant it - I'm very cautious when it comes to older vintages and decanting. I simply let it in the open bottle for about 30-40min before drinking it. Drank it over an hour - was getting more and more beautiful. I got my bottle from a wine auction - bottle variation are a big factor when it comes to 50 year old wines.
2/14/18, 11:39 PM - @trouts10 I love some decent Brett in a wine, it may give it more depth and complexity but when there is nothing more left than Brett it is an off bottle and not enjoyable - flawed. It seems that you don't know, what you're talking about.
7/10/17, 8:43 AM - Must have been a bad bottle. All my bottles were great so far although i would wait at least 5 more years before opening the next one.
7/2/17, 1:56 PM - I guess you're right Rolf. I'm not a big Champagne drinker and these were the only bubbles we had in the fridge when some friends were surprising us with their visit. Will probably get better in the future.
10/2/16, 12:10 PM - Thanks for your opinion, now i'll try my first one on the next weekend to see myself.
5/2/16, 2:34 PM - Haven't had it yet, but I agree, 82 is something I would give a cheap worthless but drinkable supermarket wine.
1/2/16, 12:02 PM - Yes might be, although it didn't taste like it had any of the usual errors. Unfortunately it was my first and last bottle of the 1995.
5/30/15, 4:09 AM - You like the wine and give just 80 points???
1/5/15, 4:07 PM - Tres bon and just 81 points? Are you serious?
10/7/14, 2:56 AM - Congratulations on surviving your first marathon :-)
8/17/14, 1:59 AM - Why just 81 points if you like the wine? 81 points are something i would give to a good, cheap wine from the supermarket...
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
