11/28/22, 3:00 AM - i barely remember this dinner. Unfortunately the wine just wasnt impressive.
11/30/22, 10:02 AM - I figured ;) but that 77 Malbec is still on my wall right now
7/31/22, 9:35 AM - give it 20 years and it will truly shine. these are built for long age.
5/30/22, 9:21 AM - sounds like a bad bottle. your description is just about the opposite of what i have had from that bottling. the dried fruit suggests to me that there could have been some heat damage to your bottle.
1/24/22, 12:23 PM - i have a bottle of this - would you suggest i put it away for a bit or not?
1/1/22, 6:30 PM - i hid all of mine away but having had this pretty much on release - agree - SUCH A WINE. amazing juice
12/22/21, 10:14 AM - lacking fruit sounds like low level TCA. there is a lot that could happen to Mike's Zins but lack of fruit is not likely LOL
12/15/21, 10:12 PM - The problem was fixed right after that vintage. The new corks do not have any issues.
10/31/21, 8:22 PM - i cannot understand the score of 80... sounds rather good
9/25/21, 7:42 AM - that Salil... :) this really is an excellently balanced feinherb. i would say it is likely still rather young - what do you think?
9/25/21, 10:40 AM - Interesting! Yeah I have the original one
5/14/21, 7:40 AM - Not a Nebbiolo
5/14/21, 8:13 AM - I am not my child nor am I my parent. It’s not the same grape. Would you consider Pinot noir and Pinot gris the same grape? They are significantly closer in dna than these 2
7/9/20, 9:45 AM - such a lovely wine.
11/15/19, 2:27 PM - i am sorry but why would you rate it at 75 if its too young? 75 - is undrinkable trash with serious flaws.
8/1/19, 9:57 AM - how long do you usually age your Carlisle Zin? i am drinking my '06 and '07 now and they are just inching into maturity. put one away for a decade - it will reward.
8/1/19, 11:01 AM - I guess you don’t drink much BDX or Burgundy or Barolo
8/1/19, 11:23 AM - my comment was originally not to you but to the note. you jumped in to say that zins should not need age to be good. i find that statement just plain strange - since we allow so many wines that age to show true potential.
8/1/19, 12:27 PM - i get it. i never open mine until they are close to 10 years old. i have always been more than happy with what they become. They get lighter but also brighter and more nuanced. what can i say ? come to NYC and i can open one for ya. as far as numerical scores - bah..i dont care... its a number. i give my own numbers too, dont get me wrong, but they mean more to me than to anyone else.
7/3/19, 12:28 PM - are you in FLX now? will be there all week starting tomorrow.
7/3/19, 2:18 PM - Yes - actually hitting about 20+ for a big report for TheCorkReport. I tried sending you a FB text but I don’t think you read those? Anyhow we should chat at some point - would be happy to pick your brain
7/3/19, 10:58 PM - Mlermontov@rcn.com
6/27/19, 10:29 AM - I don’t understand your comment - does that help?
6/27/19, 10:30 AM - Were you talking about the score? Typing on the phone - must have fat fingered the score lol
1/4/19, 7:36 PM - next of how many? i think i am going to give it more time - really enjoyed it as well at the winery
12/19/18, 1:35 PM - thanks for a flashback to over 10 years ago. At that tasting - this was not how the wine was explained. thanks for the lovely passive aggressive tone too. really nice to see.
11/16/18, 5:45 AM - totally - i must say the 15 Chardonnay is starting to show well. dont have 14s left :(
4/26/18, 4:15 PM - Maybe you need to read the note ? Advanced, lean mid
4/26/18, 5:10 PM - Wow how about you go troll elsewhere ? I didn’t feel it was showing correctly and this did not give it a score - do t like it ? Move along. I was drinking it with three other people who felt the bottle was off. Your ridiculous comments only serve to show your absolute lack of any understanding
4/15/18, 8:12 AM - thanks bud. love their wines and them. one of the highlights of our Mosel trip.
10/4/17, 6:38 AM - thanks and cheers :)
7/30/14, 9:17 AM - we arranged ahead of time with them and they were amazingly gracious about it. I think a call to them would go a long way :)
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
