this '12 sugar shack is a great representation of goo aubert. upon pulling the cork, it was still tight and closed off....however it started to come together in about 2 hours. no mistaken that this is big house calif chard with 15% alch. definitely you can taste the heat but it is in check and well balance with nice acidity. nose of lemon and lime with slight peach with wet stone. on the palate you can taste lychee, pineapple with nice minerality. this wine is near peak but can be hold for several more years.

pull the cork 2 hours before our dinner and right away the explosion of nose hit you in the face in a great way! first hour it was still little tight but knew it would open up by the time our steak was ready....this bottle was at its peak and not going anywhere anytime soon. great balance of fruit, tannin and acid. the weight of the wine on the palate is not heavy but has really nice dark red fruits. very long finish. always love karl lawerence and this was no exception
