Purple to the rim. Shut down right now.
Not much fruit and significant tannins. The least attractive of the tastings I have had in the past three years. Suggest another three years

Purple to the rim. Lots of black fruit up front some tannins to resolve but lush and full with a short 15 second finish.
Improving as it opens and definitely better with food

Look for some improvement with age. Will wait 2 to 3 years for my next bottle

Left one over night with no cork in the fridge after drinking half the bottle. Much softer with more fruit showing Expect this to be better in about 3 to 4 years

Cherry to the rim. Notes of black fruit. After one hour not much in the way of fruit or finish. After two hour decant huge black and red fruits drying as it crosses the palate to a medium finish. For those who like a fruit bomb drink now. I will wait at least 3 years to allow the fruit become wine and the tannins to subside. Also hoping the finish will improve with age

Second bottle this week. The first left in the fridge with the top off for two days. The second pandp. The first lasted and improved. The second absolutely delicious. Pretty much the same notes as before. Still expecting this to grit the 20 year mark. Right now at its peak and no indication it is anywhere near going downhill

Opened two bottles over 3 days. Both corks came out intact. Both bottles brown throughout. Fist bottle with Chinese food retained some fruit although very much on tge leather side. Okay would rate close to 90 as some fruit left with a moderate finish

Second bottle first night leaking any fruit Kept overnight in fridge bottle open Second night sone fruit showing leather with a moderate finish. No tannins to resolve if you have any drink up

Purple to the rim. Cherries on the nose. Some fruit up front but seems closed down with tannins and is somewhat bitter at the finish a 20 second finish but really fealing the tannins. This is the worst showing for this wine for me

Forgot my note to wait a year. Second day open in the fridge over night. Purple to the rim. Lots of up black fruit up front.
At this point all fruit. Tannins have softened. Finishes short or would have merited a couple more points

Most approachable yet for this wine. Don’t think this will get more points in my book but plenty of time left to see.

Less of a score this time as the tannins are more pronounced and almost too sweet

Barley a hint of orange at the rim. Needed an hour to really open up. Black fruits and minerals on the nose. Black fruits on the palate with more fruit showing than I rember from other tastings. Big full smooth with tannins mellowed. Given the development in the glass I think there are several more years left. Have had a number of older Larkmead which have all stood to the 20 year mark so expect the same hear. Best of the regular Larkmead bottlings.

Double decanted and left for 2 hours Loads of up front fruit with a long finish. Still some tannins to relive but can be drunk right now. No need to hurry though as there are years of life left. Drank along side tge 2015 which seems younger Not much to choose between the two vintages I suspect the 2015 will age better

Try both again in a year

Cherry with a hint of orange at the rim. Luscious black fruit still with freshness as it crosses the pallet to a moderately long finish Full bodied with barely a hint of tannins. Tastes much as it did 5 years ago but much softer and can see that there is an end in site. Suspect this is best over the next 2 to 3 years.

Decanted one hour. Ruby to the edge. Black fruits on the nose but cherries and some black fruits on the palate. Pure sweet and lush with fruit from the front to the back of the mouth. Some tannins sneaking through but a very smooth full bodied wine at its peak. Finishes long The best for this one for me. Still seems to have several years of drinking left

Some hints of orange at the rim. Stuffed nose so can’t tell the bouquet The best yet for this wine and the best we have had in many years of drinking wine, including a beautiful spottswoode 2015 that we drank the night before. Full bodied lots of black fruit and some minerality. Not the typical fruit bomb from Napa but more underlying the minerality rather than up front in your face. Layers of taste as it crossed the pallet to a finished that seemed to go on forever
One hour decant and started opening up with 15 minutes in the glass drink now or over the next few years.
Paid $325 for 3 of these and will buy more. Wow!!

To dark to see the color but really nice black fruit up front. Tannic after an hour without food. Second hour now with food. Fruit comes to the front Carrie’s through to a long long finish

Perhaps another year improves this and softens tge tannins Personally I am waiting till late 2023 for my next bottle
