Classic Village composition of strawberries, cherries, and spices bolstered by good acidity and peppery complexity. A touch singed on the fruity finish. This is exactly what Village level Beaujolais should taste like.

Attractive notes of mixed red berries, black raspberries, violets, and white pepper. A touch of cigar box. Full bodied, firmly structured, but loosens up with air, turning juicier and broader, picking up ash on the tightly wound finish. Very nice but I think this would have been even better had we given it a couple of hours in the decanter.

Brooding dark fruit backed by mixed spices, asphalt, and a kiss of bitters. Dry, nicely structured, with a pliant texture, firm tannin, and just enough of everything to make this a solid wine.

Time has brought out the best in this wine. It retains its rich, densely-packed concentration of dark fruit, but it is foiled by succulent acidity, tremendous length, and earthy tones of smoke and tar complexity. A touch of brett and a lick of salt gain steam on the finish. Delicious.

Opens to orchard fruit, citrus, minerals, and fresh herbs. The palate displays nice brightness, freshness, and backbone, with a light prick that makes it come across as sassy. Picks up citrus pith on the long and refreshing finish. Nice.

Crisp and vibrant, with a tensile intensity to notes of lemons, green apples, dried pineapple, spicy ginger, and steely minerality. This is tremendously long and complex, with impressive focus and delineation, impeccable freshness and balance, and an energetic effervescence that carries through the spicy and refreshing finish.

I can't say enough about this bottling. Lovely aromas of dark fruit, cassis, chocolate, cedar, and spices. Rich, structured, and layered, this gushes with depth, concentration, and density, with a velvety texture and plush fruit flavors that build and expand as the wine decants. Delicious now but will develop beautifully.

Ripe, zinny notes of dark berries, creme de cassis, oak spice, and a hint of root beer. This is big and voluptuous but it has enough backbone and cut to make it come across as balanced. Tasty.

Gravelly dark fruit and cocoa over earthy tones of licorice, black olives, and spices. Shows very good brightness, balance, and freshness, and the whole package is framed by a lovely, feral aspect as well as the typicity of the appellation.

Dark berries, cherries, and tomato leaf aromas are grounded in brambly intensity. The palate is bright, mid-bodied, and displays oak spice complexity and hibiscus tea acidity. Solid.

Pleasant Barolo, with a bright combination of cherries, wet earth, and sandalwood. It's rustic, linear, and pretty straightforward, and still flexes youthful persistence, I just don't know if the fruit will outlast the tannins.

This is a deceiving wine. Inviting aromas of lychees, gooseberries, stonefruit, and white flowers are laced by a kiss of botrytis. The palate, however, is slightly off, lacking sufficient cut and brightness, making this come across as heavy and clunky. A shame.

Still slightly holds back for a 13 year old Brunello, but it's bright and energetic, with a lovely funk to cherries, singed earth, cedar, forest floor, and conifer. It kept evolving and growing, flexing its impressive volume and structure but never in a heavy way. It's beautifully dry, expressively long, and still developing. 92+ with lots of potential.

I waited a long time for this to harmonize but it never seemed to come together. It started out estery and reductive, with decent enough notes of orchard fruit, pears, and limes, but something just didn't jibe here. It was just off kilter. A shame given its price point. An off bottle, perhaps?

Such a beautiful wine. Layered and complex, elegantly textured, with so much focus and precision. Tropical notes of pineapple, oranges, citrus blossom, and jasmine are lifted by tremendous brightness and a refreshing splash of ocean spray. Wonderfully balanced and lime zest infuses the long and refreshing finish.

Big, rich, and powerful, but very balanced, with earthy notes of black cherries, minty herbs, oak, and bottle age complexity. It's unsurprisingly youthful, yet approachable, especially with air. The flavors turn juicy and succulent after 1+ hour in the decanter, with Tootsie Roll intensity on the long, sapid finish. Impressive finesse for such a massive wine.
