White - Sparkling
Quite a deep gold colour
Bruised apple and lemon on the nose
Full body, initially seems a bit sweet and syrupy (seems like quite a high dosage) but seems better balanced after a few sips. Ripe and round, lots of hazelnut and yeasty marmite notes. Big sparkling wine. Ageing nicely. Not the most elegant but lots of fun.
Rosé
Deep colour, big crunchy red cherries, huge fun. I like this.
Rosé
Fresh, stone fruit, strawberries, nice rose in a Provence. Not very distinctive but it's fun.
Red
Spicy and ripe, fresh and fragrant, lots of dark fruit.
This is really tasty. Lovely balance between fruit and freshness. Just a touch of smokiness. Ripe tannins. Delicious.

Barrel-fermented rose from Crouch Valley in Essex
Very pale colour
Apples on the nose, touch grassy,
Nice cherryish pinot fruit, a little vanilla and spice.
Was expecting more from this, more body and oomph. It's quite nice and ethereal.
Red
Sweet red fruit, floral and spicy.
Warming, nice and Rhoney. Good freshness.
Canned wine labelled as Banks Brothers
Red
Red fruit, juicy, floral, light, strawberries, crunchy.

Very nice, especially for a canned wine.
White - Fortified
2024 release not a vintage wine
Drank this over a few nights , it starts off quite salty and lean but moves on to brown apple and butterscotch with toasted almonds. Very long and complex. Great wine.
Rosé
Saline fresh, rose petal, orange, very nice, though not sure it has quite the intensity of the 2022. Still it's delicious and distinctive.
Rosé
2023 Vergelegen Florence Rosé Stellenbosch Grenache Blend, Grenache
Deeper colour than classic provence, orange/ pink
Fuller flavoured too, vibrantly floral, orange blossom, lemon sherbert.
Huge fun.
Rosé
Fresh, orange and lemon, touch of peach.
Lean, fresh style.
Rosé
Peachy, high acidity, fresh, even a touch grassy.
Might settle down with time in the bottle and fatten out.
Quite nice
Rosé
Fresh saline nose, peach, strawberry,
Clean and crisp, gentle fruit.
Enjoyable
Rosé
Very ripe stone apricot and peach, almost viognier-type levels of fruit richness. Full body. Low acidity, Creamy and long.
Richer style of Provence rose. Nice fruit intensity.
Costs about £25 and tastes it.
Rosé
Quite full bodied, peach and orange fruit. Nice intensity of flavour. Creamy finish. Some length . Good.
Rosé
Nice peach and strawberry fruit. Lacks the intensity of last years vintage and there’s a touch of grassiness here but can’t see anyone complaining.
Red
Very ripe fruit, plums and blackcurrants, sturdy , slightly rustic tannin, a little bit roasty and smoky like a South African red.
Big ripe wine, it was better last night, today it tastes a bit hot and rough round the edges.
Red - Fortified
Fresh floral nose,
Sturdy tannins but with that lovely perfumed floral note standing out, red fruit and clove spice.
Young and one with great potential Showing well now but I'd wait at least 5 years.
Red - Fortified
Special wood-aged port used to add depth and complexity to the 20 year old tawny. Limited edition - only one barrel has been bottled.
Orange brown colour
Orange peel, very fine, precise and intense, lazer-like focus in flavouer and massive intensity. Almonds on the finish.
Really superb.
Red - Fortified
Really subtle style of vermouth, not that sweet and with lots of white port character. Honeyed with gentle bitter and sweet notes.
This would be great served in a long drink or in a Martini.
Red - Fortified
deep brown colour
Nutty and spice, lots of red fruit with an oloroso-esque earthy quality.
Good.
Red - Fortified
Very pale brown colour
Lots of strawberry fruit, some jam with a long nutty finish.
White - Fortified
Toffee, burnt sugar, long and nutty. Gentle sweetness. This would be nice sipped neat and chilled as an aperitif.
Red
2016 Le Corti Corsini Chianti Classico Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Floral, red cherry nose, a touch of volatility but nothing too scary, old leather, raisins,
Proper firm sangiovese tannins but ripe and with plenty of ripe fruit ot back it all up, old leather, tobacco and cinnamon. Probably fading a little but with a piece of steak, this was drinking beautifully.
Red
2020 Gaia Nótios Peloponnisos Red Blend (view label images)
Mainly agiorgitiko with some Syrah
Bright red purple colour
Floral, spicy, Turkish delight, cherry, fresh and crunchy. Spicy finish.
Delightful. And a bargain at £10 ish.

Thought this was a bit flat and boring. Vaguely cherryish. Didn’t make me want another glass
White - Sparkling
Pinot gris and Bacchus , roughly half and half. I was a bit sceptical about this but it really works. Green apple, peach with elderflower and orange blossom. Fruity and subtly aromatic. Not trying to be champagne at all. And it’s only £20. Clever wine.
White - Sparkling
Another superb upmarket wine from Black Chalk
The fruit is red cherry and peach with citrus. As with the b de b, there's a thrilling purity here. It's a little broader with more overt brioche and yeasty character. The finish is very long. Drinking beautifully now. I think it will change and mature but the fruit is so vivid now.
White - Sparkling
Lemon curd on the nose with orange, smells very pure
Racy and taut on the palate but not sharp, pure lemon fruit with a tangy saline age. Perfect ripeness leading to hazelnut with a creamy long finish.
Absolute textbook English blanc de blanc. Beautiful fruit.
Rosé
Very pale colour
Peachy nose, intense stone fruit,
Ripe fruit, apricots, nice texture, cherry pit nuttiness. Very nice. £20 so not cheap but it is delicious
Red - Fortified
Very spicy nose, dark fruit
Powdery tannin, dark chocolate, black cherries, floral.
In a great place.

Incredible deep colour
Big floral/ herbal nose, apparently a large proportion of touriga franca in the blend.
Ripe soft tannins, drinking really well now but this should last and last.
Red - Fortified
Very pale red/ brown colour
Tastes a lot older than it is, intense piercing acidity, a little bit dirty like an oloroso sherry. Big freshness.
Great fun.

New release from Graham's
Amazing nose - furniture polish, rancio - it's like an old Cognac
Big bite of acidity, huge freshness. Intense and complex, very very long.
Sensational.
Red - Fortified
Old red fruit on the nose, woody and leather
Dry, elegant style, almost doesn't taste sweet, then there's a floral red cherry sherbet. Long.
Drinking well now.
Red - Fortified
Bottled in 2014
Thick colour

Interesting to try a vintage port from a house that specialises in tawnies. It's very different to the Fladgate ports I tasted the same day.
Very pale colour
Floral spicy nose
Haunting Turkish delight/ rose petal fragance, delicate spices. this is great. Probably not one for the long term but great now.

Fascinating table wine from Montilla
Bruised apple on the nose
very dry, salty and nutty, long and nutty.

7th release of this
Haunting aroma, the nose is quite spectacular, like old leather bound books with dried flowers. Really remarkable
Palate doesn't quite match up to it though it's still impressive with a piercing freshness, extraordinary intensity and a walnut finish that goes on for a good ten minutes. I can still taste this 3 days later.
Red - Fortified
30 year old wine

Big volatile acidity on the nose, rancio with that peach pit earthy/ nutty quality
Intense and earthy, walnuts with a oloroso type earthy quality.
Big funky sort of wine.
