Consumed on NYE with some great friends. Opened and followed over 2 hours . This is a bruiser and the elegance, depth of fruit and fine grain tannin that showed so great young are starting to duck into the shadows. It's now time to bury these and let em sleep IMO. 2016 sounds about right to check in again.

The wine is incredibly aromatic and the nose is deep with red fruit, floral tones and hints of smoke. It's silky and glides across your palate with red cherry mixed with smoke and cassis tones. The tannins are fine grained with the mouth feel silky and almost juicy in quality. The wine picks up depth and closes with a deep complex finish. An extraordinary wine already that might pick up a point or 2 with a few more years. This is drinking really well right now. This note is based on the first hour of tasting. With further decanting the wine became deeper but a bit more primary and closed. If you open now I would pnp and follow over time.

2/7/16, 12:16 PM - It was even better tasting at the winery in 11/15. That bottle had been opened the prior day. As good as the 12 line up is the 13's are even better. Not to be missed.
