It is expensive ($100) but worth each sip!

This 22 years old bottle is gone downhill, with a brownish color to high acid at finishing.
  • libero commented:

2/13/23, 4:18 PM - I purchased around 2005 and kept it on my temperature-controlled cellar all these years. I agree this Spain wine with only 22 years should be OK to better.

2/13/23, 4:27 PM - Please let me know your experience with the 2001. Hope it is delicious and mine was an exception.

2/13/23, 4:34 PM - I checked again and have not purchase around 2005 as I wrote and actually was 6 bottles in 2013. Prior bottles were rated at 92. Sorry for the wrong purchase date .

I wish I could have more bottles of this wine. This 12 years old bottle has an outstanding complex aromas,
. Prunes dry figs and black and red berries together with complex aromas that I can’t distinguish. At taste is round, dense and delicious with a balanced tannins and acidity. Short to medium long finishing.

9/30/22, 4:57 PM - About one hour to let sediment coming down. Filtering is better. Enjoy! Cheers!!!

Deep ruby color, nearly opaque. Wonderful nose of black cherry, light “dusty” oak. The dark cherry fruit dominates the flavor profile, with side notes of tart cherry, blackberry and oak. A silky-smooth mouthfeel, with excellent balance of tannins and acidity with an elegant flavor depth without a heavy weight. Medium long finish emphasizing again the balance of tart cherry fruit, well-behaved tannins and another touch of oak. Excellent QPR!

I am sorry to say that this expensive wine has disappointment me. None aromas whatsoever. After pop and up to 2 hours later, no aromas. At taste is round and pleasant with a finishing at dry side.
  • libero commented:

2/18/20, 11:24 AM - I agree with you and others comments about waiting 10 or 15 years before opening the next three bottles that I have.
I was encouraged to open for two reasons. First, many recent comments and giving high rates, for same wine drunk in 2019 and 2020.
The second reason, with 82 years old, it makes a challenging to wait for next 15 years... to drink it. I will give a try.

This 10 years old private did exceed my expectation. Flavored of dry prunes and figs. A vivid dark red color
Can be drunk now or wait for another 3 to 5 years. Finish is still tannic.
