With apologies for the brevity this is drinking very well indeed right now.

Very close to final retirement. Still enjoyable but presumably a shadow of its former self. Throws a lot of sediment.

Another disappointing showing consistent with my prior note. The palate is now dominated by a strong alcoholic note. I have to confess I do not understand some of pro and non pro reviews on here, totally foreign to my experience of the wine.

Oxydised and dead like the annunziata 2000 opened just now and the Brunate 99 2 weeks ago. There seems to be persistent problems with the longevity of late 1990s early 2000s Voerzios in my experience

Drinks really beautifully now. Everything in the right place, no hard angles. At peak but no need to rush

Slightly over the hill compared to previous bottle a few years ago. Still delicious but I’d not wait

I find the acidity a little overpowering here, and the overall feel on the thin side. Overall a consistent disappointment sadly. Bottle No 2 of 6.

Bought on the strength of the professional reviews and so far a disappointment. High acidity, feels disjointed. When left to breathe the acidity is tamed but alcohol predominates. Bit of a mess.

Actually quite like this. A touch too much heat as others noted particularly on the after palate, but surprisingly fruity, young and sprightly.

Very heavy on the oak, made in an international style. Thoroughly overshadowed by the AN served that night. Poor QPR.

At the restaurant, no detailed note except to say how good this was for the price. A sappy, fragrant, true Pinot Noir, best QPR on the wine list at Scott’s.

Outstanding purity of mostly red fruit. Very fine pinot nose. Fine, well delineated aromas. There’s something uplifting about this. Has the wow factor. Will be eternal I’m sure but perfectly fine to drink now.

I agree with many of the previous reviews through the scores do not seem consistent with the narrative always. 3rd bottle. Wonderful nose, but on the palate alcohol still predominates. This feels disjointed and does have the smoothness of other vintages, probably never will. The 95 point Galloni score once again a mystery to me.

With apologies for the subjective and impressionistic nature of this note, another bottle, really like this. Lots of character.

Several of these Oenotheque bottles have been corked/oxydised. Caveat qui bibet!

I’ve had the good fortune of tasting many vintages of this wine, and this is the first 2013 I try. It has a vibrancy which is quite extraordinary and adds spice to the usual characteristics of this vineyard, but is provided by acidity levels that border on the overpowering. Needs more time or long decant. These are very long lived and this is a vintage I’d ideally put away for 20 years if, alas, I was 20 years younger.

Much better than last bottle. Corton character coming out but with an acidic backbone still overly to the fore. Needs more time or proper decant.

A wine of quiet and understated elegance and refinement. Some significant bottle variations, see my last note, but this one my last sadly hit all the right notes. And as always the ancien régime labels are a delight to see.

Reserved but elegant notes of sous bois and black fruit on the nose. A little more expressive but also reserved delicious black currant and other black fruit on the palate. This wine is subtle and rewards attention. If you do pay attention there’s lovely Chambertin character to be had. The penultimate of 12 and the best so far. No rush.

From jeroboam. Sadly, over the hill. Has that slightly oxidised nose and palate - more the latter than the former - from old Barolos. Got worse with air. Nice colour, no bricking. Short finish. Not unpleasant but far from what it should be.

Extraordinarily pure 100% high altitude Granacha with racy acidity, crunchy minerality, red and black fruit, a fine note of guarrigue, ethereal elegance, QPR out of this world. Maybe I shouldn’t write this and keep it alk to myself. Even better in a few years, no doubt, but not to miss today.

Fresh and lively but not overpowering. Spicy on the palate, very aromatic, white pepper and dark fruit. Expresses the complexity of Nebbiolo in an understated way. Very good QPR

This wine, which was lush and rich when I bought it years ago, has not aged well. It’s dessicated and raisiny, and thought not technically maderised, does feel that way. Not sure what to do with my last 5 bottles. Big disappointment.

Much mellowed and improved since my last note. In magnum this time. With moderate air, tannins fade into the background and crunchy red and black fruit predominate. Delicious, genuine. Now very fine.

Vibrant Sangiovese, nose a bit subdued (just popped), on the palate, black fruit, and notes of caramel or what one may also perceive as leather/cedary notes. Very nice. Mature but no rush. No sediment. Clear, deep colour. Fine.

Really awesome but the main purpose of this note is to share my experience that the wine has to be decanted to be enjoyed, even if not for long. At opening, funky barnyard nose that dissipates with air. Consistent over several bottles, all sourced direct from the domaine. Incredible QPR as pre Frey, underrated LC often are.

Fabulous pinot noir nose of sous bois, autumnal wood fire, and a streak of strawberries in the background. The palate is more subdued and tighter and tells you the wine needs more time. Revisit in 5 to 10 years.

Sublime burgundy. The nose is a bit subdued right now, but will open up I am sure. The palate is a velvety layer of black currant and morello cherries, supported by fresh activity and present but perfectly integrated tannins. Very fine. If there's any quibble, it would be relative shortness in the after palate.

Textbook Brunate. Candied red fruit, balsa wood, and dried flowers. Mature but a touch of alcohol on the finish might dissipate with more time. Very fine.

A lot of class but the palate is buffeted by hard, angular tannins which hopefully will smooth out over time.
