Again, with the hype and all surrounding MacDonald, I didn't want to love it ...especially as much as I did.
It was just so harmonious...so Napa without being everything I hate about Napa...
The wine had so many subtleties that with each sniff I found more and more profound.
Darker toned cherries and cassis, cola, anise, brown sugar, Umami and loads of Asian and Indian spices.
The palate was caressing in every way. Medium bodied but uber complex. So much going on.
The finish was perfect - no sense of alcohol with a dusting of tannins. Just WOW. The wine fux.

WX Blind Pinot Noir Tasting (Danny Aliaga's House): One of my standouts. Cloudy murky cranberry red - awesome. So pungent on the nose. Super peppery, truffles. So much funk. Lighter fruit notes still pronounced.
More funk and gorgeous texture on the palate. Bright red fruit, mushrooms and forest floor. Long finish. Killer juice. Highly recommended.

It's been a little while since I've sampled a Schrader. How could I possibly forget how fantastic and just plain old delicious their Cabs are - all of them.
Whenever I taste a Schrader the first thing I think of is gorgeous elegant fresh leather. Loads of fruit bombard your senses. Cassis, plums, dark cherries and raspberries. The smoke, earth and leather is killer.
So royal and elegant. This is the absolute pinnacle of Napa Cabernet. I mean, it is completely worth the price tag of now $175. Yes, I've seen it climb over the years from $125 but it's still a steal considering the price of other "blue chip" wines that are rarely this good. The palate is exceptional. Grabs your attention at every sip. Such a long well endowed finish. Big and burly without being over the top. Still great acidity. These wines all tip toe on the brink of perfection. Stunning. Highly recommended. Best wine of 2013 so far! Thanks Chris!

Gorgeous light roasted nuts, fresh baked cake, lightly burnt caramel, some baking spice. The aromatics are INTENSE - practically soaring out of the glass.
Really light on its feet, the palate shows remarkable concentration, acidity with an almost lemony citrus play on the back end.
Some slightly charred orange marmalade coming through as well. A super long finish with only moderate viscosity this wine could go for another fifty years to be honest.
Remarkable - high pitch (agree Phil) and really vibrant aromatics and mouth feel. One of the most memorable single bottles I've ever had the opportunity to sample.
We didn't want to finish the small taste we each were poured.A monumental wine tasting moment for all involved. Totally kick-ass.
