This is ok. There is some sense of varietal flavours. Bit of dusty tannin adds to the overall effect.

A bit lacking in definition. Fruit is a bit muted, with little in the way of texture.
White
Likeable - nice texture and finish.

It's ok - drinkable but nothing special. The price is good, and at that point it has enough definition to be worthy of consuming.

Seems like age is kind to this wine. I did quite enjoy it. Good fruit and balance.

Not convinced by this wine. Lacks the varietal definition I was looking for.
White
Bright, fresh and very palatable.
White
A little pricey for a Riesling, but very, very good.
Red
Nice savoury medium bodied Mornington Pinot. Still holding together well.

Hmm - not completely convinced by the bottle. PnP - felt a little past its best initially. It did open up a bit after 30 mins or so, and everyone else seemed to enjoy it.

Good balance and length. The oak is very present. Creamy notes with a hint of struck match. Stone fruits and a bit of citrus.
Red
Lovely balance at 10yrs old. Blackberry, plum, capsicum, mint on the palate. Tannins are fine grained and present through the length of the wine. The acidity supports the experience nicely.

Good not great. The acidity makes it a little unbalanced.

Good structure. Medium intensity nose with dark cherry, forest floor and some herbal notes. The palate is medium intensity as well. Again dark cherry, plum, balsamic strawberry and cloves. Very fine tannins support the finish. Acidity is bright and balanced. Not quite the best Tasmania has to offer, but close. I don't feel it will get better from here, but there is no sense of ageing. Should be enjoyable for at least another 5 years, and probably more.

Great wine. I now officially like Tasmanian Riesling - its that good ;-). Young Riesling can be challenging for some with sharp acidity. In this wine, the fruit is immediately at the front, and integrates with the acidic backbone. It has all the structure that indicates a very long life, and yet at the same time this is so approachable right now.

Nice. Lots of power combined with finesse. Dominant blue fruits, spice, mocha and earth. A long finish. Not past it's peak yet either.
White
Oakey with only a medium length, but the flavour profile is quite nice. Peach and lemon, with hints of cream. Well balanced. It could last a couple more years or more, but I am going to finish my last bottles this year. Happy with what I paid for it.

Frizzante - still there after an hour. Its very hard to assess the wine past this fault. I didn't note the issue with the previous bottle so maybe this is a one off. Underlying flavour is good. I just can't give a positive assessment though.
Red
Still young, but looking very good. Grippy, dusty tannins. The acidity sits nicely in the background, and supports the wine. Dark cherry, violets on the palate. Give it time to air and you will smile

2010 Château Pavie Macquin St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Awesome wine. Still fresh as a daisy. Such beautiful fruit - blackberry, plum, forest floor, cedar. Have been working through a number of 09 and 10 Bordeaux recently - they are not all travelling well. This wine a standout so far. I would suggest decades in front of it.
Red
Really nice but way too young. Like all good Hunter Shiraz it needs time. Is now on my 'buy again' list

Lovely structure, balanced fruit, possibly a touch overripe (so slightly sweeter than I like on the front), but the silky tannins and harmonious acidity make the finish lovely and savoury.
Red
Nice. Light to Medium bodied. Nicely structured. Dark cherry, fine tannins and balanced acidity. Overall a good package.

No notes - but do remember that this was lovely. I know that doesn't help but its the best i have

I like this wine. The blend is very interesting, and when you reflect, both young Sem and Riesling can be sharp. So a blend of the two is a leap in faith. At least in this wine it works. A very approachable wine, especially if you like the brightness and freshness of the 2 varietals when they are young. I don't have a sense of how this wine might age, but not sure it is supposed to. If you get a chance I would recommend trying a glass (or bottle). It won't disappoint and it will challenge your pre-conceptions

So far I have loved the 23 Hunter Sems. But -- at first i thought this wine was going to be the exception. It was a pop and pour scenario and initially the wine did not quite gel. Give it 30 mins though, and it began to sing. Not quite as good as other 23s, but still proves this vintage is a great Hunter Sem one.

Yum. Lets ignore the fact the wine is labelled Garden Vineyard - I checked with the winery - it is Steven Vineyard. Really nice. Balanced oak, malo evident in a good way, quality oak, medium / long finish. I think this will last for a while. It's quality winemaking with all the elements in balance. 5 years?
Red
Lighter style with savoury notes. Dark cherry, herbs, forest floor - nicely integrated. Medium length with fine tannins and balanced acidity. Drinking very well now, with several years in front of it.
White
On opening the wine was quite flat and dull. There were elements of an aged semillon but it felt almost diluted. After an hour or so it came to life, opening up with a freshness I was not expecting. Really nice, and will certainly last for a few more years.
Red
Still going strong. Savoury dark cherry, balanced with a long finish. At least another 3 years, and probably more.
Red
In a very good spot right now.

Another really good 23 Hunter Semillon. Worth the money and will evolve nicely. I need more in my cellar.
Red
Medium bodied. Good balance with savoury fruit, think red cherry, spice, earth. That goes along with soft but lengthy tannins, and rounded acidity. A really good package with each element in a good space.Harmony rather than tension but it works well. The balance suggests many years in front of it.
Red
Reading my previous note and some of the other contributions, I felt like I should add a new note.

This wine is evolving gracefully. There is a definitely some tertiary notes coming through now, but for me the primary fruit is still present, and the secondary elements remain. The evolution is excellent and if you want to try a wine (shiraz) at 25 or 30 years of age, I reckon this will be a good candidate. That is what I am aiming for - the next bottle in 4 or 5 years.

Balanced. I've seen many reviews that highlight the warm vintage, and this is definitely evident but the wine is not 'cooked'. The fruit profile is very good, and the balance is excellent. The quality of the fruit and the winemaking is so evident. I'm not convinced it is worth the price premium - and wouldn't buy more Grange now, but it is a very good wine. There is no sign of ageing - so another 20 years? I am not a Grange expert so don't listen to me. I have 1 more bottle - perhaps in 10 years?
Red
Quite young and fruit driven. Very nice but will be better in another 5 years. I love the savoury notes - green capsicum especially

Really not sure where this wine is going. For me it lacks a bit of fruit definition. I want it to be good, but its not there right now.

I am struggling with this wine. Originally drank at a wine dinner and thought it was lovely. Bought a case and this was the first bottle. There are hints of awesomeness, but it never quite delivers. I do think give it another couple of years and it will be very good. Everything is balanced, it just is not evolved enough.

Sorry can't remember my notes, but I will say lovely. Really lovely. Savoury, balanced, refined.

More shiraz than cabernet. Good structure and decent balance. The cabernet provides a tannin profile that adds to the structure. Acidity is fine and holds the wine together through to a medium long finish.

The oak came through quite strongly, which for the family after an unoaked Semillon was a challenge. Still this is a well structured wine. The acidity provides a nice backbone.

A bit ambivalent about this. Probably drinking it a bit young. There is good structure and balance, I'm just not sold completely on the flavour profile. Subjectivity to the fore.
Red
Drinking very well at the moment.

I picked up this bottle at auction after coming across the wine recently. I enjoyed the younger vintages I've tried. The 2014 was very nice, ageing gracefully, with honeyed notes yet retaining a nice freshness.

Superb - still youthful. I wonder how long it will go. I won't see the end of this, as I only have 1 bottle left.

Another excellent 23 Semillon from the Hunter. What is making this vintage so good is the fruit balance is on point. The Estate Grown is drinking well now. Lemon and lime on the palate, great acid line that drives to a long lingering finish. There are mineral notes that give provide structure. I love it and it will last a long time.
Red
Good varietal cabernet. Excellent structure and balance. Smooth tannins and good acidity. It is a warmer vintage so the fruit is forward. This has a long life in front of it.
