Much like 5 years ago. Lots of tannin and smoke with a bit of black fruit, all working together. Still going strong.

Remarkably similar to 5 years ago. Not so distinct fruit but still has density and balance. For daily drinker Bordeaux, this serves very well.

This wowed me. Still quite rich with distinct Bordeaux or Napa fruit features but a clear Italian style refreshing acidity. Drinking very well with all the pieces working together. I have one more but I wish there were others.

Still quite dense. Interesting profile- I wouldn’t have picked out the Nebbiolo except maybe the nose. It makes a good package - still some good fruit and acidity, but well softened. Great with lamb and roasted vegetables. I enjoyed it.

I’ve liked this before but less so this time. Very astringent upon opening and seeming a bit too ripe. Better after a night on vacuvin, but it never came together for me.

Seemingly better than my previous taste 5 years ago. Sangiovese bite with some merlot richness. Nice structure and great with lamb and roasted vegetables.

Tasted after a night on vacuvin. Classic clear Nebbiolo red and medium weight. Nice tartness and mild tannin, but limited fruit. Good with food. Enjoyable but not amazing.

Well softened and drinking well. Still has some density. A bit of tannin and nice acidity with graphite and chocolate notes. Straightforward with a lot of Bordeaux character without being amazing. Just a very good dinner wine.

Very enjoyable classic young burgundy. Great tart cherry fruit with minimal tannin. I will get more if I can.

Better after night on vac. Nice balance of fruit, acidity, light tannin, minerals, and an interesting hibiscus note. Nothing out of place, with a good texture in the mouth. Great with braised lamb shank in white beans, eggplant, with Moroccan spices.

Drinking very well. Still lots of ripe fruit well balanced by the acidity. The edges nicely worn off. I see that this was not expensive in 2013 - should have gotten more.

Took an hour for some oddments to escape. Now very nice. Medium heft, not as dense as I expected. Some tannin left, just enough for me. Key quality for me is a refreshing acidity that brings out the other notes. Great with food.

Almost black in color. Rich, dense, and very ripe. Intense black fruit and cassis, but the acidic core and the age keep it from being too much. Not sure I would have liked this young, but it is drinking well now. Well made Rhone style wine without some of the dollar signs.

Drinking very well. Mild sweet nose - more cherry than manure. Tart cherry fruit has slightly faded with an acidity that keeps going. Limited tannin and a modest weight that feels good in mouth. Great food wine.

Quite dark. Lovely sweet nose, lots of caramel and dried apricot on palate. The sweetness was well offset by the acidity, as it is supposed to be. Hard to argue with a classic. Wonderful for dessert on Christmas.

Great with Christmas Prime Rib. It has lost some fruit and density. Not as much nose or complexity as I had expected but it is drinking well.

Delicious on first taste but an off fishy note creeps in. Pretty much everything you expect in a Brunello. Char and cherry. Well reviewed by others. I enjoyed it despite some slight oddities.

Very slight oxidation but drinking very well. I don’t always like the richer brioche style but I like this. Deep lingering palate. Delicious with both burrata/prosciutto and duck ragú.

This seems to have two camps and I am one the positive side. It is not what I expected but very tasty. Fairly dense with cinnamon on nose and palate. Not much tannin and as other person said, I might have guessed Grenache from the spicy fruit. As also said, not a bargain. Even so I might get again. :)

After a night on vacuvin this seems more like a cru Beaujolais. Still unusually dense but very good.

Ripe, rich, but not overly sweet or raisiny. Good acidity and a very long mouth-coating finish. The fruit density/price ratio is high without being too jammy. Drinking well now but will likely keep a few years.

Clear dark red. A bit of spoiled vegetable on nose. It has very nice Etna rosso style. Refreshing lightness and acidity coupled with some deeper weightier notes. Great with food. I got this at what appears to have been a bargain price. Maybe this will come along again.

This is in a good spot. Mild, sweet herbal nose. Softer and more secondary than 5 years ago. Some tobacco and char with the cherry. It has a light touch that is great with food. It may keep, but I’m not sure it will improve.

Dense ripe raisiny fruit. A bit of oxidation gives a bit of port character. Not my thing, but I think some could quite like it. From my tastings and the reviews I think there could be significant bottle variation in this wine.

Certainly past its optimal drinking window but it has something to offer. Cork in good shape. Slightly bricked but not strongly so. Dusty nose. Still has reasonable density, with the fruit giving way to more tobacco and char notes. Still has the acidity if not the tannin, giving a long even presentation. Tasty with roasted eggplant and peppers. I have liked younger versions of this in the past as good value Napa cabs. Now I find that it keeps well too.

Deep rich smokey Aglianico fruit. Big, even presentation of fruit, acidity and softened tannins, with nothing out of place. This has legs but it is in a nice place now without the harshness of a Taurasi opened too soon. Great with sausage and tomato pasta.
